Podgorica
Podgorica (Cyrillic: Подгорица, ; lit. 'under the hill') is the capital and largest city of Montenegro. The city was formerly known as Titograd (Cyrillic: Титоград, ) between 1946 and 1992—in the period that Montenegro formed, as the Socialist Republic of Montenegro in honour of Marshal Josip Broz Tito. The city was largely destroyed during the bombing of Podgorica in World War II and accordingly the city is now dominated by architecture from the following decades of communism. Further but less substantial damage was caused by the 1999 bombing by NATO forces. The surrounding landscape is predominantly mountainous terrain. The city is just north of the Lake Skadar and close to coastal destinations on the Adriatic Sea. The Democratic Party of Socialists of Montenegro ( cnr, Демократска партија социјалиста Црне Горе, Demokratska partija socijalista Crne Gore, DPS) is a populist political party in Montenegro. Predrag Bošković (; born 12 March 1972) is a Montenegrin politician and sports administrator. Currently he is a member of the Parliament of Montenegro, and the former Minister of Defence of Montenegro. Bošković is an economist and has been involved in politics since 1997. Vujica Lazović (Serbian Cyrillic: Вујица Лазовић; born 10 March 1963 in Plav, Montenegro, SFRY) is a Montenegrin politician, professor and diplomat who is currently serving as ambassador of Montenegro to Slovenia. He was vice-president of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) under Ranko Krivokapić, and was one of founding members of the new Social Democrats of Montenegro (SD), in 2016.
