Coat of arms of Republic of Latvia was officially adopted by the Constitutional Assembly of Latvia on 15 June 1921, and was in official use from 19 August 1921. It was created using new national symbols and elements of coats of arms of Polish and Swedish Livonia and of the Duchy of Courland and Semigallia. Thus the coat of arms combines symbols of Latvian national statehood, as well as symbols of its historical regions. Brīvības iela is the central street of Riga, the capital of Latvia. It is more than 12 km long, going through all of Riga from the historical centre to the outskirts. History The street was the beginning of an important trade route - the road to the region of Vidzeme (Southern Swedish Livonia) and the Russian city of Pskov. It began with what is today Smilšu iela and went through Riga's suburbs. The city entrance next to the Powder Tower was initially the main entrance to Riga from the countryside. Ilze Indriksone
Ilze Indriksone (born 29 October 1974) is a Latvian environmental planner and politician representing the National Alliance (NA) party. Since May 2022, she is the Minister of Economics. She was a member of the 13th Saeima (elected from the NA) and during that term, she was parliamentary secretary of the Ministry of Economy and deputy chairman of the Talsi Municipal Council. The National Alliance ( lv, Nacionālā apvienība, NA), officially the National Alliance "All for Latvia!" – "For Fatherland and Freedom/LNNK" (), is a national-conservative and right-wing populist political party in Latvia.
