Ministry Of Italian Africa
The Ministry of the Colonies was the ministry of the government of the Kingdom of Italy responsible for the governing of the country's colonial possessions and the direction of their economies. It was set up on 20 November 1912 by Royal Decree n. 1205, turning the ''Central Direction of Colonial Affairs'' within the Ministry for Foreign Affairs into a separate ministry. Royal Decree n. 431 of 8 April 1937 renamed it the Ministry of Italian Africa after the Second Italo-Ethiopian War, which resulted in the Italian annexation of the Ethiopian Empire and the birth of Italian East Africa. It was suppressed on 19 April 1953 by law n. 430. Emilio De Bono
Emilio De Bono (19 March 1866 – 11 January 1944) was an Italian general, fascist activist, marshal, and member of the Fascist Grand Council (''Gran Consiglio del Fascismo''). De Bono fought in the Italo-Turkish War, the First World War and the Second Italo-Abyssinian War. Early life and career De Bono was born in Cassano d'Adda, a son of Giovanni de Bono and descendant of the Counts of Barlassina, and Elisa Bazzi. His family "suffered under the Austrian yoke". He entered the Royal Italian Army (''Regio Esercito'') in 1884 as a second lieutenant, fought in the Italo-Ethiopian War of 1887-1889, and had worked his way up to the General Staff by the start of the Italo-Turkish War in 1911. He was awarded the Knight's Cross of the Military Order of Savoy for his conduct during the war. Gaspare Colosimo
Gaspare Colosimo (1859–1940) was an Italian jurist and politician who held various government posts, including minister for posts and telegraphs and minister of colonies. Early life and education Colosimo was born in Colosimi, Cosenza, on 8 April 1859. His parents were Peter Paul, an attorney, and Artemisia Colosimo. He received a law degree. Career Following his graduation Colosimo settled in Naples where he worked as a lawyer. Then he involved in politics and became a councillor and then director of the province. On 6 November 1892 he elected a deputy from the constituency of Serrastretta, province of Catanzaro, and served in the parliament until 1921. Colosimo was the minister for posts and telegraphs from 24 November 1913 to 19 March 1914. Meuccio Ruini
Meuccio Ruini (14 December 1877 – 6 March 1970) was an Italian jurist and socialist politician who served as the president of the Italian Senate and the minister of the colonies. Biography After graduating in law from the University of Bologna, in 1903 he entered the administration of the Ministry of Public Works and, in 1912, became general manager of special services for the Southern Italy. In 1904 he joined the Italian Socialist Party (PSI) and in 1907 he was elected municipal councilor in Rome and provincial councilor in Reggio Emilia. Francesco Saverio Vincenzo de Paolo Nitti (19 July 1868 – 20 February 1953) was an Italian economist and political figure. A Radical, he served as Prime Minister of Italy between 1919 and 1920. According to the ''Catholic Encyclopedia'' ("Theories of Overpopulation"), Nitti (''Population and the Social System'', 1894) was a staunch critic of English economist Thomas Robert Malthus and his Principle of Population.
