Ministry Of Interior (Nigeria)
The Federal Ministry of the Interior is a part of the Federal Ministries of Nigeria tasked with providing complementary internal security and other ancillary services within Nigeria. History The concern to maintain internal security gave rise to the creation of Federal Ministry of Internal Affairs in 1957. In 2007, the Ministry of Internal Affairs merged with the Ministry of Police Affairs, resulting in the Ministry of the Interior. The current Minister of the Interior is Ogbeni Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola Functions The Ministry formulates and implements policies related to border management and supervises the National Immigration Service. Federal Ministries Of Nigeria
The Federal Ministries of Nigeria are civil service departments that are responsible for delivering various types of government service. Each ministry is headed by a Permanent Secretary who reports to a Minister in the Federal Cabinet. Some government functions are provided by "commissions" or parastatals (government-owned corporations) that may be independent or associated with a ministry. Sunday Afolabi
Chief Sunday Afolabi (1931 – 10 May 2010) is a Nigerian politician who served in the Cabinet of President Olusegun Obasanjo as Minister of Internal Affairs. Later he stood trial for alleged bribery concerning contracts for the National ID card plan. Background Sunday Afolabi was born in Iree, Osun State, of Yoruba origin. Mohammed Shata is a Nigerian politician who served in the Cabinet of President Olusegun Obasanjo between 1999 and 2003. Obasanjo cabinet In July 1999 the Senate cleared the appointment by President Olusegun Obasanjo of Shata as Minister of National Planning. As Minister of State for Internal Affairs, in September 2000 Shata said that one-third of the 44,000 people awaiting trial in Nigeria were in jail. Iyorchia Ayu (born 15 November 1952) is a Nigerian politician; he is the current Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Working Committee. Magaji Muhammed
Magaji Muhammed (31 December 1940–April 2017) headed the Nigerian Federal Ministry of Internal Affairs until the June 2006, when he resigned to pursue a gubernatorial ambition, and he was succeeded by Oluyemi Adeniji. Oluyemi Adeniji
Ambassador Oluyemi Adeniji (22 July 1934 – 27 November 2017 in London) was a Nigerian career diplomat and politician who was the Special Representative of the General Secretary with the United Nations Mission in Sierra Leone (UNAMSIL) from November 19, 1999 to July 16, 2003. Shettima Mustafa (26 November 1939 – 17 November 2022) was a Nigerian academic and politician. After an early career in medicine, local administration, and media, Mustafa studied agriculture at university, eventually earning a Doctor of Philosophy degree. He became a commissioner in Borno State and joined the Nigerian People's Party, becoming their vice-presidential candidate in 1983. He was jailed after the military coup of December 1983 led by Muhammadu Buhari. Patrick Abba Moro (born 3 July 1956) is a Nigerian educational administrator, politician and former Minister of the Federal Ministry Of Interior.
