Ministry Of Higher Education (Zambia)
The Ministry of Higher Education is a ministry in Zambia. It oversees university and vocational, training, science, technology and innovation and is headed by the Minister of Higher Education. The current ministry was established in 2005 after being split from the Ministry of Education, which was renamed the Ministry of General Education. Ministry of Higher Education It had existed previously as the Ministry of Science, Technology and Vocational Training. Prior to that, there had been a Deputy Minister at the Ministry of Education responsible for technical education. Patriotic Front (Zambia)
The Patriotic Front (PF) is a social democratic political party in Zambia. The party was formed by Michael Sata as a breakaway party of the Movement for Multiparty Democracy (MMD) in 2001 after the President Frederick Chiluba nominated Levy Mwanawasa as its presidential candidate for 2001 elections. The party's main base of support are usually the youth and poor people in urban centres (although this support wavered starting in 2021), as well as members of the Bemba people in Copperbelt Province and Lusaka Province. After several years, the PF gained power in the 2011 general elections, and governed until the 2021 elections. Formation The Patriotic Front was formed as a political party in 2001. Education In Zambia
Lower education in Zambia is divided into three levels and these are namely: primary, junior secondary and upper secondary. Higher education in Zambia has improved in the recent years due to the increase of private universities and colleges. The biggest university is the public University of Zambia which is located in the capital city of Lusaka along the great east road and hosts a number of local and international students. The Copperbelt University is the second largest public university and is located in the Copperbelt province of Zambia in Kitwe, and the youngest public university is Mulungushi University, with its main campus 26 km north of Kabwe. United National Independence Party
The United National Independence Party (UNIP) is a political party in Zambia. It governed the country from 1964 to 1991 under the socialist presidency of Kenneth Kaunda, and was the sole legal party in the country between 1973 and 1990. On 4 April 2021, Bishop Trevor Mwamba was elected President of UNIP. History UNIP was founded in October 1959 by Mainza Chona as a successor of the Zambian African National Congress (ZANC), banned earlier that year. UNIP was initially led Chona as the ZANC leader, Kaunda, had been imprisoned. Kaunda later assumed power as leader of UNIP after he was released from prison in 1960. Brian C. Mushimba is an engineer who formerly served in the cabinet of the Zambian government under President Edgar Lungu's rule. Nkandu Luo
Nkandu Phoebe Luo (born 21 December 1951) is a Zambian microbiologist and politician who was a vice presidential candidate for the Patriotic Front in the August 2021 election. She is a microbiologist who previously served as Head of Pathology and Microbiology at the University Teaching Hospital in Lusaka and has carried out extensive research into HIV/AIDS. Peter Marvin William Daka (born 3 November 1960) is a Zambian politician. He served as a Member of the National Assembly for Msanzala from 2003 to 2021. Biography In the 2001 general elections, Daka contested the Msanzala seat as the Heritage Party candidate, finishing fourth with 21% of the vote, whilst Levison Mumba of the Movement for Multi-Party Democracy (MMD) was elected.
