The Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Maldives is responsible for managing the public finances of the Maldives. History The Finance Ministry was established in 1932 under the Arabic name ''Vuzaaraathul Maaliyya'' to handle the Sultanate of the Maldives' financial affairs. The politics of the Maldives, as per the reports, take place in the framework of a presidential representative democratic republic, whereby the President is the Head of Government. Executive power is exercised by the government. The President heads the executive branch and appoints the Cabinet; like many presidential democracies, each member of the cabinet need to be approved by the Parliament. The President, along with their pick for vice president, is directly elected by the denizens to a five-year term by a secret ballot. Mohamed Shihab
Mohamed Shihab is a Maldivian politician. He was the Speaker of Majlis of the Maldives — the legislature of Maldives and a member of the Jumhoory Party. He is a former senior member of Maldivian Democratic Party. He became the Speaker of Majlis on 12 August 2008, succeeding former Speaker Ahmed Zahir, and he served as the speaker until 28 May 2009. Ahmed Inaz
Ahmed Inaz is a Maldivian economist, and former Minister of Finance in the MDP government from April 2011 to December 2011. He was a member of the Maldivian Democratic Party, but resigned in February 2012 and has served as a Director in Planning Ministry during the presidency of former President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom. He resigned from the post of Finance Minister after MDP militant activists assaulted him after meeting an opposition leader. Ali Hashim
ʿAlī ibn Abī Ṭālib ( ar, عَلِيّ بْن أَبِي طَالِب; 600 – 661 CE) was the last of four Rightly Guided Caliphs to rule Islam (r. 656 – 661) immediately after the death of Muhammad, and he was the first Shia Imam. Abdulla Jihad
Abdulla Jihad served as Vice President of Maldives from 22 June 2016 to 17 November 2018. Prior to his appointment on 22 June 2016, he served as the Minister of Finance. Mr Abdulla Jihad was born on 3 January 1963. He graduated from the University of Waikato, New Zealand, with a Master of Management Studies in Economics.
