The Ministry of the Electrical Equipment Industry (Minelektrotekhprom; russian: Министерство электротехнической промышленности СССР) was a government ministry in the Soviet Union. Established in 1954; disestablished in 1957 and reestablished as State Committee in 1962 and as Ministry in 1965; responsible for the development and production of electrical cable, storage batteries, lighting equipment, electrical motors, generators, transformers, and high voltage electrical distribution apparatus. Aleksei Antonov (politician)
Aleksei Innokentievich Antonov (russian: Алексей Иннокентьевич Антонов; 9 September 1896 – 16 June 1962) was a General of the Soviet Army, awarded the Order of Victory for his efforts in World War II. From 1945 to 1946 he was Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Soviet Union. Career Born in Grodno in a family of Kryashen ethnicity as the son of an artillery officer of the Imperial Russian Army, Antonov graduated from Frunze Military Academy in 1921 and joined the Red Army during the Russian Civil War. He became an instructor at Frunze Military Academy in 1938. In 1941, Antonov became chief of staff for the Soviet Southwestern Front and Southern Front. Oleg Anfimov
Oleg Anfimov (1937–2019) was a Soviet engineer and politician who was the minister of electrical equipment industry of the Soviet Union between 1986 and 1991. Biography Anfimov was born in Shakhty on 19 February 1937. He was a graduate of the Riga Polytechnical Institute where he obtained a degree in electromechanical engineering. He was a member of the Communist Party. He served in different posts in the party, including the Riga Gorkom Party secretary and secretary of the central committee of the Communist Party of Latvia. He was general director of Riga electro-machinery works from 1981 to 1983. He served as the minister of electrical equipment industry between 20 July 1986 and 24 August 1991. In the period 1986–1989 Anfimov was a deputy at the Supreme Soviet. In November 1991 Anfimov was appointed president of a state-owned corporation.
