The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development () is a department of the Albanian Government in charge of regulation of the economic activity in the agricultural sector of the country with a purpose of increasing the sector's production capacity. The ministry is responsible for agriculture, rural development, food safety and consumer protection, fisheries and aquaculture, and waters administration. It was formed as the ''Ministry of Agriculture'' within the special cabinet created on December 4, 1912, right after the Declaration of Independence, with the first minister Pandeli Cale. Ferid Vokopola
Ferid Vokopola (18 August 1887 – 28 June 1969) was an Albanian politician, theologist, translator and a delegate of Lushnjë in the Assembly of Vlora held on 28 November 1912, and one of the 40 signatories of the Albanian Declaration of Independence. Life He was born on August 18, 1887 in the village of Vokopolë in Berat, then part of Ottoman Empire. In early 19th century, his family moved to the city of Berat, where he completed his elementary school. He completed the high school in Istanbul, where he later also completed his university studies in law and economics. After finishing school, he returned in Berat and lived for several years in the city, where he served as a lawyer in the city. Niko Aleks Peleshi (born 11 November 1970 in Korçë) is an Albanian politician who currently is serving as the Minister of Defence since 31 December 2020. He previously has served as the Deputy Prime Minister of Albania in September 2013. He was Prefect of Korçë from 2004 to 2005 and Mayor of Korçë from 2007 to 2012. Edmond Panariti (born 1 June 1960) is an Albanian academic and politician, who is the former minister of foreign affairs and the former minister of agriculture and rural development. Early life and education Panariti was born in Tirana on 1 June 1960. He studied veterinary medicine and graduated from the University of Agriculture in Tirana in 1984. Pali Miska
Pali Miska (19 May 1931 – September 2009) was an Albanian politician of the Communist Era. He served as Chairman of the Assembly of the Republic of Albania from 22 November 1982 to 19 February 1987. Miska was first as a party functionary in Fushë Arrëz, the largest Albanian state enterprise for timber production. In 1970, he was elected first-deputy of the People's Assembly (Alb: ''Kuvendi Popullor''), and served as member from the seventh to the end of the eleventh legislative term until 1991. Pirro Dodbiba (1925–2004) was an Albanian politician of the Albanian Party of Labour (PPSh). Although the nephew of Sokrat Dodbiba, former Minister of Finance in the quisling government of Rexhep Mitrovica during World War II who died in communist prisons, he chose from the beginning the opposite path joining the National Liberation Movement.
