Minister For Education (Sweden)
The Minister for Education ( sv, utbildningsminister) is the education minister of Sweden and the head of the Ministry of Education and Research. The current Minister for Education is Mats Persson of the Liberals. History As a result of the ministry reform in 1840, the Ministry of Education and Ecclesiastical Affairs ( sv, Ecklesiastikdepartementet) was instituted. The head of the ministry was the Minister of Education and Ecclesiastical Affairs, with the responsibility of culture, the Church of Sweden, research and education. In 1968, the Ministry of Education and Ecclesiastical Affairs changed its name to the Ministry of Education and Cultural Affairs ( sv, Utbildningsdepartmentet), today called the Ministry of Education and Research. Lesser Coat Of Arms Of Sweden
The coat of arms of the Kingdom of Sweden ( sv, Sveriges riksvapen) has a greater and a lesser version. Regulated usage The usage of the coats of arms is regulated by Swedish Law, Actbr>1970:498 which states (in unofficial translation) that "in commercial activities, the coats of arms, the flag or other official insignia of Sweden may not be used in a trademark or other insignias for products or services without proper authorisation. This includes any mark or text referring to the Swedish State which this can give the commercial mark a sign of official endorsement. This includes municipal coats of arms which are registered." Any representation consisting of three crowns ordered two above one are considered to be the lesser coat of arms, and its usage is therefore restricted by law 1970:498. Nils Claëson
Nils Ludvig Alfred Claëson (15 November 1848 – 7 January 1910) was a Swedish politician and civil servant. Claëson was born in Botkyrka, Sweden. He graduated from Uppsala University and subsequently became an assessor at the Svea Court of Appeal in 1883 and as head of the Department of Ecclesiastics (the educational department at the time) in 1884. In 1889 he was elected parliamentary ombudsman and in 1892 he was appointed Supreme Court justice. In 1898, he was appointed minister of education and ecclesiastical affairs in Erik Gustaf Boström's government, a post he held until 1902. Claëson was also a member of the canon law committee in 1890 and a representative at the church assembly in 1898. Gunnar Wennerberg
Gunnar Wennerberg (2 October 1817 – 24 August 1901) was a Swedish poet, composer and politician. Biography Wennerberg was the son of the vicar of the town of Lidköping in Västergötland, went to '' gymnasium'' in the cathedral town of Skara, and matriculated as a student at Uppsala University in 1837, where he studied natural sciences, Classical philology, Philosophy and Aesthetics. He received his filosofie magister degree in 1845 and became a docent of Aesthetics in 1846. Wennerberg was remarkable in several ways, handsome in face and tall in figure, with a finely trained singing voice, and brilliant in wit and conversation. From the outset of his career he was accepted in the inner circle of men of light and leading for which the university was at that time famous. Count Henning Ludvig Hugo Hamilton (16 January 1814 – 15 January 1886) was a Swedish count, politician, government official and author. His father was Gustaf Wathier Hamilton. Today he is perhaps best remembered for the so-called ''Hamilton scandal''. Career Born in Stockholm, Hamilton received his education at Uppsala University and became second lieutenant of the Svea Artillery Regiment in 1829. After a study trip to the continent in 1835, he worked as a teacher of topography and fortification in 1837 at the military academy (today's Military Academy Karlberg), taught military tactics and regulations at the school for line officers in Stockholm from 1837 to 1843 and was a lieutenant in the Topographical Corps from 1839 and its captain from 1845. Lars Anton Anjou
Lars Anton Anjou (18 November 1803 – 13 December 1884) was a Swedish bishop, church historian and politician. Biography Anjou studied at Uppsala University, where he became a Bachelor of Philosophy in 1827, a Master of Philosophy in 1830, a Bachelor of Theology in 1834 and a Doctor of Theology in 1845. He was ordained a priest in 1827. In 1845, Anjou was appointed professor and pastor in the parish of Helga Trefaldighet, and in the parish of Denmark in 1851. In the academic year 1851–1852, he was rector of Uppsala University and was appointed minister of education and ecclesiastical affairs on 9 March 1855 as the successor of Henrik Reuterdahl.
