Asociación Civil Club Deportivo Mineros de Guayana, known as Mineros de Guayana or simply Mineros, is a professional football club based in Puerto Ordaz, Venezuela. History The Colegio Loyola Gumilla's field, located in Puerto Ordaz, was used in football matches. The people who played at the field decided to found a football club. On November 11, 1981, the club was founded as Club Deportivo Mineros de Guayana. On November 20, 1981, the club's foundation constitutive act was signed. On January 3, 1982, the club played its first match, against Villa Colombia FC, a Guayana's amateur club. Mineros won 2-0, both goals scored by José Pacheco. On September 5, 1982, the club won the Segunda División Venezolana, being promoted to the following year's first division. In 1989, the club won the first Primera División Venezolana. Polideportivo Cachamay
The Estadio Cachamay is part of the Centro Total de Entretenimiento Cachamay (English: The Total Entertainment Center of Cachamay). It is a multipurpose stadium located on Avenida Guayana in Puerto Ordaz (Part of Ciudad Guayana) Bolivar State, Venezuela. The old stadium was opened in 1980 and subjected to an expansion, modernization and remodeling over the years 1990 and 2006–2007, which involved the demolition of some parts and redesign of its structure to point to double its capacity before 2006, being one of the 9 host stadiums of the 2007 Copa América, when it reopened as Cachamay CTE. It is set in grounds with beautiful natural landscapes, surrounded by the mighty river Caroni and waterfalls Cachamay Park. Pedro Zaragoza Orts (May 15, 1922 – April 1, 2008) was the mayor of Benidorm, Spain, from 1950 to 1967. He is credited with helping turn the town into one of the most popular holiday resorts in Spain, creating "Europe's first mass tourist resort." Early life Zaragoza was born in Benidorm to a family of poor seafarers; his father was a merchant captain. He was able to travel around the world as a child with his father seeing Sydney, London, and Singapore. He went to school in Barcelona to learn nautical studies. Gustavo Andrés Páez Martinez (born April 16, 1990) is a Venezuelan footballer who plays for Mineros de Guayana as a forward. Career Born in Mérida, Páez started his senior career playing in lowly club Academia Emeritense. In 2009, he had a short spell with Peruvian Alianza Lima before returning to his home country to play with Zamora FC, in Venezuelan Primera División. In January 2010 Páez signed with NK Interblock Ljubljana playing in the Slovenian First League; despite being regular at the side, he suffered team relegation at the end of the season.
