Districts Of Burma
Districts ( my, ခရိုင်, Kharuing; ) are the second-level administrative divisions of Myanmar. They are the sub-divisions of the States and Regions of Myanmar. According to the Myanmar Information Management Unit (MIMU), as of December 2015, there are 76 districts in Myanmar, which in turn are subdivided into townships, then towns, wards and villages. The District's role is more supervisory as the Townships are the basic administrative unit of local governance. A District is led by a District Administrator, a civil servant appointed through the General Administration Department (GAD) of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MOHA). The Minister of Home Affairs is to be appointed by the military according to the 2008 constitution. Kyaukpyu District
Kyaukpyu District ( my, ကျောက်ဖြူခရိုင်) is a district of the Rakhine State in western Myanmar. The capital lies at Kyaukphyu. Etymology The name Kyaukpyu (lit. Rakhine State
Rakhine State (; , , ; formerly known as Arakan State) is a Administrative divisions of Myanmar, state in Myanmar (Burma). Situated on the western coast, it is bordered by Chin State to the north, Magway Region, Bago Region and Ayeyarwady Region to the east, the Bay of Bengal to the west and the Chittagong Division of Bangladesh to the northwest. Chin State
Chin State (, ) is a state in western Myanmar. The Chin State is bordered by Sagaing Division and Magway Division to the east, Rakhine State to the south, Bangladesh to the south-west, and the Indian states of Mizoram to the west and Manipur to the north. The population of Chin state is about 478,801 in 2014 census. The capital of the state is Hakha. The state is a mountainous region with few transportation links. Chin State is sparsely populated and remains one of the least developed areas of the country. Mindat District
Mindat District ( my, မင်းတပ်ခရိုင်, links=Mindat, Mindat=Mindat) is a district in the Chin State of Myanmar. It consists of two townships and 840 villages. History In 1948, after the formation of the constitution for the Union of Burma, Pakokku province was created with two districts - Pakokku District and Mindat District. They comprised a total of 11 townships - Pakokku (capital city), Mindat, Yesagyo, Pauk, Seikphyu, Myaing, Gangaw, Htilin, Saw, Kanpetlet, and Matupi. On March 2nd, 1962 the military led by General Ne Win took control of Burma through a coup d'état, which put the government under the direct control of the military. A new constitution of the Socialist Republic of the Union of Burma was established on May 4th, 1974. Magway District
Magway District is a district of the Magway Region (formerly Magway Division) in central Myanmar. Magway may be divided into two portions: the low, flat country in the Taungdwingyi subdivision, and the undulating high ground extending over the rest of the district. In Taungdwingyi the soil is rich, loamy, and extremely fertile. The plain is about from north to south. At its southern extremity it is about wide, and lessens in width to the north till it ends in a point at Natmauk. On the east are the Pegu Yomas, which at some points reach a height of A number of streams run westwards to the Irrawaddy, of which the Yin and the Pin, which form the northern boundary, are the chief.
