Minardi M186
The Minardi M186 was a Formula One car, designed for Minardi by Giacomo Caliri for use in the season. Introduced partway through the year and driven by Andrea de Cesaris, it was an unreliable car and only finished one race. Development Designed by Giacomo Caliri, only one example of the M186 was built for the Minardi team. It had a carbon fibre monocoque and was powered by the Motori Moderni V6 engine, which had been used in the M186's predecessor, the Minardi M185B. Race history The M186 was introduced partway through the 1986 Formula One season, at the Hungarian Grand Prix and was raced by Andrea de Cesaris for the rest of the year except for the Austrian Grand Prix, where Alessandro Nannini drove it. The M186 was marginally better in qualifying than the M185B, and it had a best qualifying position of 11th, in the Australian Grand Prix, the team's best grid placing in its history at the time. 1986 Hungarian Grand Prix
The 1986 Hungarian Grand Prix was a Formula One motor race held at the newly constructed Hungaroring on 10 August 1986. It was the eleventh race of the 1986 Formula One World Championship. It was the first Hungarian Grand Prix since 1936, and the first-ever Formula One race to be held behind the Iron Curtain. The race was attended by 200,000 spectators from across the Eastern Bloc; this stood as a record for a Formula One race for nearly a decade, until 210,000 attended the 1995 Australian Grand Prix in Adelaide. The 1986 Detroit Grand Prix was a Formula One motor race held on June 22, 1986, in Detroit, Michigan. Summary Lotus-Renault star Ayrton Senna started on the pole and came away with a hard-earned win, the fourth of his career. The 1986 Monaco Grand Prix was a Formula One motor race held at Monaco on 11 May 1986. It was the fourth race of the 1986 Formula One World Championship. The Monaco circuit had been modified from the year before: the chicane after the tunnel now had three turns and was renamed the Nouvelle Chicane. Patrick Tambay had a spectacular accident when he and Martin Brundle tangled at Mirabeau, and Tambay's Lola went right over Brundle's Tyrrell, caught six feet of air and barrel-rolled into the protective Armco right next to some spectators, and in the process almost went over the Armco into a bar next to the track. 1986 San Marino Grand Prix
The 1986 San Marino Grand Prix was a Formula One motor race held at Imola on 27 April 1986. The race was the third round of the year's World Championship. As with the previous year's event, fuel consumption was a big issue, changing the points finishers in the closing laps. The Autodromo Dino Ferrari had received safety upgrades from the previous year, including slight track modifications after the Variante Alta chicane and extended runoff areas at the Rivazza complex. 1986 Spanish Grand Prix
The 1986 Spanish Grand Prix was a Formula One motor race held at Jerez on 13 April 1986. This was the first Formula One Spanish Grand Prix since the 1981 race was held at Jarama. This race featured a 3 car battle for the lead over the last half of the race. Ayrton Senna ( Lotus-Renault), Nigel Mansell ( Williams-Honda) and reigning World Champion Alain Prost ( McLaren- TAG) all had opportunities to take the win, with close nose to tail racing around the circuit. The 1986 Brazilian Grand Prix was a Formula One motor race held at Jacarepaguá in Rio de Janeiro on 23 March 1986. It was the opening race of the 1986 Formula One World Championship. The 1986 Mexican Grand Prix was a Formula One motor race held at Mexico City on October 12, 1986. The first Mexican Grand Prix since 1970 was held at the newly renamed Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez, located in the Magdalena Mixhuca recreational sports park in the middle of Mexico City. The track had been slightly shortened and modified from its previous layout; although Mexico City was located on a geologically active surface; so the circuit was very bumpy- and the most fearsome and spectacular corner on the circuit, the banked 275 km/h, 180-degree Peraltada turn remained from before, but with more run-off area and less banking than before.
