Milyering Well
This is a list of karst features in Western Australia. It includes all named features that occur in the Australian Speleological Federation Karst Index Database (KID). The term " karst feature" is an umbrella term for topographical features formed from the dissolution of soluble rocks such as limestone, dolomite, and gypsum. While the majority of features in the list below refer to cave entrances, some other features include cliffs, gorges and a calcified wooden water wheel. Karst Features Each feature is given a unique identification number, and many are also given a name. This list is restricted to named features. For conservation reasons, the precise locations of features are not made available to the public. However, most features are allocated to an area. The Labyrinth (Western Australia)
In Greek mythology, the Labyrinth (, ) was an elaborate, confusing structure designed and built by the legendary artificer Daedalus for King Minos of Crete at Knossos. Its function was to hold the Minotaur, the monster eventually killed by the hero Theseus. Daedalus had so cunningly made the Labyrinth that he could barely escape it after he built it. Although early Cretan coins occasionally exhibit branching (multicursal) patterns, the single-path (unicursal) seven-course "Classical" design without branching or dead ends became associated with the Labyrinth on coins as early as 430 BC, and similar non-branching patterns became widely used as visual representations of the Labyrinth – even though both logic and literary descriptions make it clear that the Minotaur was trapped in a complex branching maze. Petrogale (Western Australia)
The rock-wallabies are the wallabies of the genus ''Petrogale''. Taxonomy The genus was established in 1837 by John Edward Gray in a revision of material at the British Museum of Natural History. Gray nominated his earlier description of ''Kangurus pencillatus'' as the type species, now recognised in the combination ''Petrogale penicillata'' (brush-tailed rock-wallaby). Owls are birds from the order Strigiformes (), which includes over 200 species of mostly solitary and nocturnal birds of prey typified by an upright stance, a large, broad head, binocular vision, binaural hearing, sharp talons, and feathers adapted for silent flight. Exceptions include the diurnal northern hawk-owl and the gregarious burrowing owl. Owls hunt mostly small mammals, insects, and other birds, although a few species specialize in hunting fish.
