Milton of Leys (Scottish Gaelic: ''Baile Muilinn an Leigheis'', meaning "Mill-Farm of Medicine" ) is an area of the city of Inverness in the Highland council area of Scotland. Inverness, Nairn, Badenoch And Strathspey (UK Parliament Constituency)
Inverness, Nairn, Badenoch and Strathspey is a constituency of the House of Commons of the UK Parliament. As with all seats since 1955 it elects one Member of Parliament (MP) by the first past the post system of election. The seat covers a broad south-eastern portion of the Highland council area. It has four locations in its name, the most nationwide. Boundaries The constituency was created in 2005 by merging an area from Inverness East, Nairn and Lochaber with an area from Ross, Skye and Inverness West. The rest of Inverness East, Nairn and Lochaber was merged with most of the rest of Ross, Skye and Inverness West to form Ross, Skye and Lochaber. A small area of Ross, Skye and Inverness West was merged into Caithness, Sutherland and Easter Ross. Inverness and Nairn is a constituency of the Scottish Parliament ( Holyrood) covering part of the Highland council area. It elects one Member of the Scottish Parliament (MSP) by the first past the post method of election. It is also one of eight constituencies in the Highlands and Islands electoral region, which elects seven additional members, to produce a form of proportional representation for the region as a whole. The seat was first created for the 2011 Scottish Parliament election, and covers parts of the former seats of Inverness East, Nairn & Lochaber and Ross, Skye & Inverness West. Highland ( gd, A' Ghàidhealtachd, ; sco, Hieland) is a council area in the Scottish Highlands and is the largest local government area in the United Kingdom. It was the 7th most populous council area in Scotland at the 2011 census. It shares borders with the council areas of Aberdeenshire, Argyll and Bute, Moray and Perth and Kinross. Their councils, and those of Angus and Stirling, also have areas of the Scottish Highlands within their administrative boundaries. Scottish Gaelic ( gd, Gàidhlig ), also known as Scots Gaelic and Gaelic, is a Goidelic language (in the Celtic branch of the Indo-European language family) native to the Gaels of Scotland. As a Goidelic language, Scottish Gaelic, as well as both Irish and Manx, developed out of Old Irish. It became a distinct spoken language sometime in the 13th century in the Middle Irish period, although a common literary language was shared by the Gaels of both Ireland and Scotland until well into the 17th century. Most of modern Scotland was once Gaelic-speaking, as evidenced especially by Gaelic-language place names. Moray Firth
The Moray Firth (; Scottish Gaelic: ''An Cuan Moireach'', ''Linne Mhoireibh'' or ''Caolas Mhoireibh'') is a roughly triangular inlet (or firth) of the North Sea, north and east of Inverness, which is in the Highland council area of north of Scotland. Highland Council
The Highland Council (' ), the political body covering the Highland local authority created in 1995, comprises 21 wards, each electing three or four councillors by the single transferable vote system, which creates a form of proportional representation. The total number of councillors is 74, and the main meeting place and main offices are at the Highland Council Headquarters in Glenurquhart Road, Inverness. Current administration The most recent election of the council was on 5 May 2022. The largest group elected were 22 councillors from the SNP, who were joined by 21 independent, 15 Liberal Democrat, 10 Conservative, 4 Green and 2 Labour councillors. Inshes Primary School
Inshes (, gd, Na h-Innseagan, ) is a small residential area in the east of Inverness, Scotland. Inverness is the capital of the Highlands and is one of the fastest-growing cities in Europe. Some parts of Inshes were built a few decades ago, but most of it was built after 2003. A few houses are still being constructed and not yet finished. The houses are made by Barrat and Tulloch Homes, which are quite popular and expensive in Britain. A majority of the houses are semi-detached but some are detached. There are also a few flats in Inshes. Education The area has a school, Inshes Primary School, which has about 400 pupils.
