Milton Road is an arterial road in Brisbane, Australia. It is currently signed as State Route 32 for its entire length. Milton Road is a major corridor for traffic between the Brisbane central business district and the western suburbs. It carried an average of 50,954 vehicles per day between July and December 2014. Milton Road's western end is at the northern terminus of the Western Freeway at the base of Mount Coot-tha in the suburb of Toowong and progresses in a north-easterly direction through the suburbs of Auchenflower and Milton before terminating at Petrie Terrace in Brisbane City. 250 metres west of Petrie Terrace is an interchange with the Hale Street expressway which allows access to and from the Inner City Bypass. XXXX (pronounced four-ex) is a brand of Australian beer brewed in Milton, Brisbane by Queensland brewers Castlemaine Perkins (now a division of the Japanese-owned company Lion). It enjoys wide popularity in the state of Queensland, where it is commonly found on-tap in pubs and bars. The XXXX brand was first introduced by Castlemaine in 1924 and is a throwback to the long-standing tradition of using Xs to indicate the strength of an ale. Milton Railway Station, Brisbane
Milton railway station is located on the Main line in Queensland, Australia. It serves the Brisbane suburb of Milton. The station includes a walkbridge to Lang Park and is also immediately adjacent the Castlemaine Perkins brewery. History Milton station opened in 1884. The station was rebuilt in 1960 as part of the quadruplication of the line. In June 2010, the Queensland Government approved mixed-use development at Milton station, which will see the station covered with office and apartment buildings. Roma Street is a major street in Brisbane, the capital of Queensland, Australia. It is named after Diamantina Bowen (née di Roma), the wife of the first Governor of Queensland, George Bowen. Red Hill is an inner northern suburb in the City of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. In the , Red Hill had a population of 5,560 people. Geography Red Hill is by road north-west of the Brisbane CBD. The suburb is very hilly and mainly residential, with shops and small businesses located on Musgrave and Waterworks Roads. History The suburb is one of the oldest in Brisbane. Red Hill is named after its steep hills with red soil and rocks. A Baptist chapel was building in 1874. In 1888, the chapel was replaced by the Windsor Road Baptist Church. Go Between Bridge
The Go Between Bridge, formerly known as the Hale Street Link, is a toll bridge for vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists over the Brisbane River in inner-city Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. The bridge connects Merivale and Cordelia Streets in West End to Hale Street and the Inner City Bypass at Milton. It is Brisbane's first inner-city traffic bridge in 40 years and carries around 12,000 vehicles per day. The bridge opened to traffic in the early hours on 5 July 2010 and is now operated by Transurban Queensland. Coronation Drive, popularly known as Coro Drive, is a road in Brisbane, Queensland which connects the Central Business District to the suburb of Toowong. Legacy Way
The M5 Legacy Way (formerly Northern Link Tunnel) is a long tunnel linking the Western Freeway at Toowong and the Inner City Bypass at Kelvin Grove, Brisbane. The project consisted of two bored tunnels carrying two motorway grade lanes of traffic in each direction. It opened on 25 June 2015 and is the fourth of five components of Brisbane City Council's TransApex Project. The tunnels will be tolled for approximately 45 years. The Environmental Impact Statement was released for public comment in September 2008 and approved in April 2010. Construction commenced in April 2011 with original plans to open the tunnel to traffic in late 2014. It carries approximately 20,000 vehicles a day and has reduced travel time between the Centenary Bridge and the Inner City Bypass by 71%.
