William Ross Milne better known as Ross Milne (born August 27, 1932) is a retired Canadian politician. Background Milne, the son of Alex Milne and Eva Renton, was raised in a political family on a farm in Grey County, Ontario. Agnes Macphail, the first woman elected to Parliament in Canada was a cousin of his father's. At age 15 he got his driver's licence, bought a Model A Ford and won a school bus contract which he maintained through his high school years in Durham and Hanover. Milne attended the University of Guelph (OAC) graduating first in Agricultural Engineering, and later with a master's degree in engineering. After graduation he worked with the Extension branch of the Ontario Ministry of Food and Agriculture designing farm buildings, drainage systems and conservation measures. Nanette Lilian Margaret Milne (born 27 April 1942, in Aberdeen) is a former Scottish Conservative Party politician. She served as a Member of the Scottish Parliament (MSP) for North East Scotland from 2003 to 2016. Early life and education Milne was born on 27 April 1942. Her parents were Hannah L. C. Flight Lieutenant Kenneth Lancelot Milne CBE (16 August 1915 – 27 December 1995), generally known as Lance Milne, was an Australian Democrats member of the South Australian Legislative Council from 1979 to 1985. Early life Milne was the son of architect F. Kenneth Milne (1885–1980), and great-grandson of Sir William Milne (1822–1895), of the Milne & Co. family business of wine and spirit merchants. John Sydney Wardlaw-Milne
Sir John Sydney Wardlaw-Milne (7 May 1879 – 11 July 1967) was a Scottish Conservative Party politician and a first-class cricketer. The son of a Scottish banker, Wardlaw-Milne spent the early part of his life in British India, where he became a prominent figure in Bombay civic society. It was in India that he played first-class cricket for Bombay and the Europeans cricket team. Following the First World War, he returned to the United Kingdom and was elected the Conservative Member of Parliament (MP) for Kidderminster in 1922, an office he would hold until his defeat in the 1945 general election. Eddie Milne
Edward James Milne (18 October 1915 – 23 March 1983) was a British Labour politician, who was elected as independent candidate after deselection by his party. He succeeded Alfred Robens as MP for Blyth, later known as Blyth Valley, in a 1960 by-election. Robens was unexpectedly and somewhat controversially elevated to the chairmanship of the National Coal Board, and Milne, a trades union official, was selected by the local Constituency Labour Party and with the support of the shopworkers union, USDAW.
