Millettia Mossambicensis
''Millettia mossambicensis'' is a species of plant in the family Fabaceae. It is endemic to central Mozambique Mozambique (), officially the Republic of Mozambique ( pt, Moçambique or , ; ny, Mozambiki; sw, Msumbiji; ts, Muzambhiki), is a country located in southeastern Africa bordered by the Indian Ocean to the east, Tanzania to the north, Malawi ..., where it is fairly widespread in the low-lying woodlands and forests. The small trees are over-exploited for local construction purposes. The leaves have two or three pairs of leaflets and one terminal leaflet which is largest. Leaflets have 9 to 11 pairs of lateral, parallel veins. The purple-blue flowers are carried on racemes which appear in spring. ''Millettia'' is a genus of legume in the family Fabaceae. It consists of about 150 species, which are distributed in the tropical and subtropical regions of the world. The genus was formerly known by the name ''Pongamia'', but that name was rejected in favor of the name ''Millettia'', and many species have been reclassified.
