Military Wives (film)
''Military Wives'' is a 2019 British comedy-drama film directed by Peter Cattaneo, from a screenplay by Rosanne Flynn and Rachel Tunnard. It stars Kristin Scott Thomas, Sharon Horgan and Jason Flemyng. The film is inspired by the true story of the Military Wives Choirs, a network of 75 choirs in British military bases across the United Kingdom and overseas, featured in the fourth season of the British documentary television series '' The Choir''. The film had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival on 6 September 2019 and was released in the United Kingdom on 6 March 2020 by Lionsgate. Peter Cattaneo
Peter Joseph Cattaneo MBE (born 1 July 1964) is a British filmmaker. He is most known for directing the comedy film ''The Full Monty'', for which he won the MTV Movie Award for Best New Filmmaker. Life and career Cattaneo was brought up in Twickenham, London. His father was a London-born animator of Italian descent. After attending London College of Printing for an art foundation course, and Leeds Polytechnic for a BA in Graphic Design (Film), he graduated from the Royal College of Art in 1989, he was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Live Action Short Film for '' Dear Rosie'' (1990). He went on to make his feature film debut with ''The Full Monty'' (1997), which was a smash success both in the UK and internationally. ''The Choir'' is a BAFTA award-winning TV series following Gareth Malone as he tackles the task of teaching choral singing to people who have never had the chance, or experience to sing before.
