Military Operations Command
The Military Operations Command, or the Military Operations Department, formerly known as Al-Fatah al-Mubin until November 2024, is a joint military operations room of Islamist and nationalist factions of the Syrian opposition participating in the Syrian civil war. The operations room was declared in June 2019, evolving from the "Damascus Conquest" operations room formed in May, during the Syrian Army's Dawn of Idlib 1 campaign, and consists of rebel groups operating in opposition-held areas of northwestern Syria concentrated in Idlib. The three groups comprising the coalition are Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, the Turkish-backed National Front for Liberation, and Jaysh al-Izza. In October 2020, HTS and two leading factions from the NLF began to finalize the creation of a Unified Military Council in Idlib. Northwestern Syria Offensive (2024)
On 27 November 2024, a coalition of Syrian opposition groups called the Military Operations Command (Syria), Military Operations Command led by Tahrir al-Sham, Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) and supported by allied Turkey, Turkish-backed groups in the Syrian National Army (SNA) launched an offensive against the pro-government Syrian Arab Army (SAA) forces in Idlib Governorate, Idlib, Aleppo Governorate, Aleppo and Hama Governorates in Syria. The operation was codenamed Deterrence of Aggression by HTS. 2024 Homs Offensive
The 2024 Homs offensive was a military operation launched by forces of the Syrian Salvation Government (SSG) and allied Turkish-backed rebel groups in the Syrian Interim Government (SIG) during the 2024 Syrian opposition offensive, a phase of the Syrian Civil War. The operation was launched by the Military Operations Command following its capture of Hama on 5 December 2024 during the 2024 Hama offensive. The offensive ended in the city being captured by opposition forces on the night of 7/8 December after government forces abandoned the city. Southern Syria Offensive (2024)
Beginning on 29 November 2024, southern Syrian opposition groups began assaults on Daraa Governorate and As-Suwayda Governorate in Southern Syria, along the nation's border with Jordan. The offensive was publicly announced as an effort by the Southern Operations Room coordinated with the Northwestern Syria offensive to implement a multi-front advance toward Damascus. The Syrian Armed Forces withdrew from their positions around the city of Daraa to reinforce Damascus but offered no resistance there, and southern opposition groups took Damascus in the early hours of 8 December, shortly before the arrival of northern opposition groups later that day. On 29 November 2024, Syrian opposition group Tahrir al-Sham, along with allied Turkey, Turkish-backed groups in the Military Operations Command (Syria), Military Operations Command, entered the Ba'athist Syria, Syrian government-held city of Aleppo. The battle began on the third day of a Northwestern Syria offensive (2024), large-scale rebel offensive. The Followers of Zainab Brigade ( ar, لِوَاء الزَّيْنَبِيُون, Liwā’ az-Zaynabīyūn, Persian/Dari: or , ''Liwa Zeinabiyoun'' or ''Lashkare Zeinabiyoun'', ur, ), literally Zainebiyoun Brigade, also known as Zainebiyoun Division, is a pro-government militia fighting in Syria composed of Shia Pakistanis. It draws recruits mainly from Shia Pakistanis living in Iran, ethnic Hazaras and Baltis in Pakistan and native Shia of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
