Milinda Chathuranga
Milinda Chathuranga (born 23 April 1991) is a Sri Lankan kabaddi player represents Sri Lanka in international matches and also currently plays for Jaipur Pink Panthers in the Indian Pro Kabaddi League. He was bought by Jaipur Pink Panthers for a bidding price of 10 lakhs during the auction for the 2019 Pro Kabaddi League. Career Milinda has represented Sri Lanka in few international competitions including the Asian Beach Games and in the Asian Games. He was part of the Sri Lankan team which claimed bronze medals in the 2014 and 2016 editions of the Asian Beach Games. Asian Games
The Asian Games, also known as Asiad, is a continental multi-sport event held every four years among athletes from all over Asia. The Games were regulated by the Asian Games Federation (AGF) from the first Games in New Delhi, India, until the 1978 Games. Kabaddi is a contact team sport. Played between two teams of seven players, the objective of the game is for a single player on offence, referred to as a "raider", to run into the opposing team's half of the court, touch out as many of their players and return to their own half of the court, all without being tackled by the defenders in 30 seconds. Points are scored for each player tagged by the raider, while the opposing team earns a point for stopping the raider. The 2018 Asian Games ( id, Pesta Olahraga Asia 2018 or ''Asian Games 2018''), officially known as the 18th Asian Games and also known as Jakarta-Palembang 2018 or Indonesia 2018, was a Asia, continental multi-sport event that was held from 18 August to 2 September 2018 in Jakarta and Palembang. Sri Lanka At The 2018 Asian Games
Sri Lanka participated at the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta and Palembang, Indonesia from 18 August to 2 September 2018. The Sri Lankan team was scheduled to consist of 185 athletes (138 men and 47 women), marking the large contingent the country has sent to a single edition of the Asian Games. The Sri Lankan team will compete in 28 sports, marking its debut in the sports of baseball, canoeing, roller sports and triathlon. Approximately, 60 officials and coaches were also a part of the contingent, making the total team size 245. However, the athletics team was cut to 14 athletes (from 25), making the team size 174 (128 men and 46 women), which would still make this the biggest team the country has sent to the games. The 2019 Vivo Pro Kabaddi League was the seventh season of Pro Kabaddi League. The season began on 20 July 2019 and concluded on 19 October 2019. Jaipur Pink Panthers (JPP) is a professional kabaddi team which belongs to Pink City of India Jaipur, competes in Pro Kabaddi League which is a professional Kabaddi league in India. The team is currently led by Sunil Kumar Malik and coached by Sanjeev Baliyan. The team is owned by Abhishek Bachchan. Jaipur Pink Panthers play their home matches at Sawai Mansingh Indoor Stadium. Although the team has gained immense popularity due to its association with celebrity owners, Jaipur Pink Panthers won inaugural season of Pro Kabaddi League 2014 by defeating U Mumba by 35-24.
