Milija Brkić
Milija Brkić ( sr-Cyrl, Милија Бркић; born 23 October 1954) is a Serbian retired professional footballer who played from the early 1970s to early 1990s. After retiring he served as a manager for numerous different clubs. Playing career Born in Bor, Serbia, Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, Brkić started playing with his hometown club Bor, and made his senior debut in 1977. Brkić played from 1978 to 1982 in Galenika Zemun in the Yugoslav Second League. He also played for six years at Bor in the second tier football league of Yugoslavia. International career Brkić played four matches for Yugoslavia at the Nehru Cup in 1982. The coach of that team was the legendary Miljan Miljanić, a former manager of Real Madrid. Managerial career Brkić began his managerial career in 1991 for his parent club Bor, spending several years as a coach of the first team in the Yugoslav Second League. FK Bor (Serbian Cyrillic: ФК Бор) is a football club based in Bor, Serbia. History Early Years (1920s to 1960s) The club was founded in 1919 as a Serbian-French sports society under the name Association Sportive Bor (ASB). The club was financed by the French Society of the Bor Mines and managed by a Frenchman named Loren, the director of mechanical services in Bor mining company. Not much is recorded about the early club activity, until the first official game played in 1920. First ASB's head coach was Gallois, who also played for the club as well as for France national football team. ASB played only friendlies until early 1930s when it joined the Niš Football Subassociation where it played in the Timok Valley regional league with moderate success until the beginning of the Second World War. Drina Zone League ( Serbian: Зонска лига Дрина / Zonska liga Drina) was one of the Serbian Zone League divisions, the fourth tier of the Serbian football league system. It was run by the Football Association of West Serbia. Founded in 2009, the league was folded in 2018, together with the Dunav Zone League and Morava Zone League.
