Miles Ogborn
Miles Ogborn is a human geographer at Queen Mary, University of London. Honors In 2012 Ogborn was elected as a Fellow of the British Academy. In 2009, Professor Miles Ogborn was selected as a Distinguished Historical Geographer by the Historical Geography Specialty Group of the AAG. With this award, he was also given the opportunity to give a lecture at the Las Vegas Las Vegas (; Spanish for "The Meadows"), often known simply as Vegas, is the 25th-most populous city in the United States, the most populous city in the state of Nevada, and the county seat of Clark County. The city anchors the Las Vegas ... AAG which was published in the journal Historical Geography. He was awarded the Philip Leverhulme Prize in 2001 for outstanding contribution to his discipline. Human geography or anthropogeography is the branch of geography that studies spatial relationships between human communities, cultures, economies, and their interactions with the environment. It analyzes spatial interdependencies between social interactions and the environment through Qualitative research, qualitative and quantitative research methods. History Geography was not recognized as a formal academic discipline until the 18th century, although many scholars had undertaken geographical scholarship for much longer, particularly through cartography. The Royal Geographical Society was founded in England in 1830, although the United Kingdom did not get its first full Chair of geography until 1917.
