Mileece is the stage name of Mileece Abson, an English sound artist and environmental designer. She makes music with plants. She is the daughter of music video director Nick Abson. Biography Mileece was born in 1978 in London, UK. Her father is Nick Abson. She spent her early life in England and California. Work Her ''Formations'' EP was released in 2003 on Lo Recordings. Following that release she toured with Múm, Mice Parade and HIM. Her live show consisted of SuperCollider generative compositions with custom made instruments. Mileece calls her sound art, aesthetic sonification, which is a way of relaying sound data into a representative mode that can be understood by all audiences. In September 2015, at Sonos Studio LA, she exhibited a sound environment installation, called ''Sonic Garden'', using plants and the Sonos Smart System. Nick Abson
Nicholas Abson (born Michael Nicholas Drinan; 22 December 1946 in England), is a British chemist, businessman, music video producer, and filmmaker. Born to parents Pamela Mileece Drinan (''née'' l'Anson) and Michael Patrick Drinan, after emigrating to Canada in 1956, Abson was adopted by his then step-father and re-christened Nicholas Michael Abson. In 1961, Abson moved to New York City, where he attended Brooklyn Technical High School. He then went on to attend the City University of New York CUNY Manhattan and Richmond College. In 1978, his daughter Mileece was born, a recording artist and advanced music composer, followed by his son Miles, and then Lancelot. Lo Recordings
Lo Recordings is a label founded in 1995 by Jon Tye. They are noted for their strong visual style thanks to Non-Format, with whom they work very closely and won a D&AD award for several of their releases sleeves. Musical style Lo recordings mainly specialize in left-field electronic music with artists such as Grimes, Black Devil and Susumu Yokota, Fischerspooner amongst many others. This is reflected in the company's motto that reads "Lo Recordings - Provider of quality esoteric music since 1995". Along with electronic music Lo Recordings has also been known to release various other genres. Múm (stylized in lowercase) () is an Icelandic indietronica band whose music is characterized by soft vocals, electronic glitch beats and effects, and a variety of traditional and unconventional instruments. History The band was formed in 1997 by original members Gunnar Örn Tynes and Örvar Þóreyjarson Smárason, who were joined by twin sisters Gyða and Kristín Anna Valtýsdóttir. According to Kristín, the band's name was not intended to mean anything. Gyða left the band to return to her studies after the release of ''Finally We Are No One''. Mice Parade is an American shoegaze band from New York City, led by percussionist Adam Pierce. ''Mice Parade'' is an anagram of Pierce's name. Biography Adam Pierce started Mice Parade as a solo project while he also played in groups including The Philistines Jr., Boston indie band Swirlies, and post-rock group HiM. Mice Parade's albums were initially released on Pierce's own Bubble Core Records, with subsequent records being released on FatCat. Earlier albums such as ''The True Meaning of Boodleybaye'' and ''Ramda'' were instrumental based, blending Pierce's complex percussion with electronica. HiM is a dub influenced post-rock group formed in 1995 by Doug Scharin, drummer for the bands Codeine, Rex (band), Rex and June of 44. Their first album, ''Egg'', was their most dub-based effort. Each successive album has gone more in a quasi-world music direction. A particle accelerator is a machine that uses electromagnetic fields to propel charged particles to very high speeds and energies, and to contain them in well-defined beams. Chantal Francesca Passamonte (28 October 1969 – 25 March 2022), known professionally as Mira Calix ( ), was a South African-born, British-based audio and visual artist and musician signed to Warp Records. Although her earlier music is almost exclusively electronic, from the 2000s onwards she incorporated writing for classical instrumentation into her musical works and expanded her practice to include multidisciplinary performance, film and multi-channel installation artworks. Vaccine (Christine Clements) is a female dubstep record producer based in California, United States. She was one of the first women signed to a dubstep related record label (Hotflush Recordings), which was up until then, a genre whose producers were almost entirely male.
