Mildred Barnes
Mildred Barnes is an American basketball coach and executive. She was a member of the U.S. Olympic Women's Basketball Committee from 1965 through 1972 and served as the chair of that committee from 1974 to 1976. Barnes was inducted into the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame in 2000. College Barnes attended Boston University, where she earned both an undergraduate degree from Boston University's Sargent College as well as a doctoral degree from Boston University's School of Education. The Iowa Hawkeyes women's basketball team represents the University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa, United States. The team is a member of the Big Ten Conference as well as the National Collegiate Athletic Association. The team plays its regular season games at 15,400-seat Carver-Hawkeye Arena, along with Iowa Hawkeyes men's basketball, men's basketball, Iowa Hawkeyes wrestling, wrestling, and volleyball teams. 1980 AIAW National Division I Basketball Championship
The 1980 AIAW National Division I Basketball Championship was held on March 12–23, 1980. Twenty-four teams were invited, with eight teams receiving first round byes. First round games were played at on-campus locations. Old Dominion University was crowned national champion at the conclusion of the tournament, for the second straight season. Missouri Sports Hall Of Fame
The Missouri Sports Hall of Fame is located in Springfield, Missouri, United States. Founded in 1994 by Springfield businessman John Q. Hammons, the Hall of Fame is housed in a two-story, 32,000-square-foot building. The National Lacrosse Hall of Fame and Museum, is located in Sparks, Maryland at the USA Lacrosse headquarters.
