Liliana Cavani (born 12 January 1933, Carpi, Italy) is an Italian film director and screenwriter. She belongs to a generation of Italian filmmakers from Emilia-Romagna that came into prominence in the 1970s, including Bernardo Bertolucci, Pier Paolo Pasolini and Marco Bellocchio. Cavani became internationally known after the success of her 1974 feature film ''Il portiere di notte'' (''The Night Porter''). George Wang (actor)
George Wang (born Wang Yie, 12 November 1918 – 27 March 2015) was a Taiwanese actor and producer who appeared in a multitude of Italian films. Biography Born in Dandong, Liaoning, Wang enrolled the Shanghai drama school China Film Studio in 1938 and the following year he made his film debut in ''Defending Our Homeland'' (''保家鄉''). In 1949, Wang moved to Taiwan, becoming one of the most important stars in the early years of Taiwanese cinema. At the end of the 1950s he moved to Italy, where he was a very active character actor in genre films, mainly spy films, adventure films and Spaghetti Westerns, being mostly cast in roles of villains. Thanks to his good knowledge of English, he was also active in a number of English language productions, notably appearing in Nicholas Ray's ''55 Days at Peking''. Biography Born Marcella Gherardi in Uscio, Genoa, she won several beauty contests at a young age, including Miss Liguria. While a student at the School of Fine Arts, she attended the drama school of the Piccolo Teatro Duse in Genoa and acted on stage with Dario Fo. In the second half of the 1960s she moved to Rome, where she briefly had a career as a pop singer, recording several singles with the stage name Marcella. Jetsun Milarepa (, 1028/40–1111/23) was a Tibetan siddha, who was famously known as a murderer when he was a young man, before turning to Buddhism and becoming a highly accomplished Buddhist disciple.
