Milan Vuković (judge)
Milan Vuković (1933 - 16 March 2018), was a Croatian jurist, president of the Supreme Court of Croatia and judge of the Constitutional Court of Croatia. Biography Vuković was born in a peasant family in Krilo near Split. He graduated at the Classical gymnasium in Split in 1952 and at the Faculty of Law, University of Zagreb in 1956. After a two-year military service as a reserve officer, he worked in a Secretariat of Justice and Public Administration. State Judicial Council (Croatia)
The State Judicial Council or DSV ( hr, Državno sudbeno vijeće) is the national council of the judiciary of Croatia. It ensures the autonomy and independence of the judicial branch in the Republic of Croatia by autonomously deciding on the appointment, promotion, transfer, dismissal and disciplinary accountability of judges and presiding judges. Members and President of the Council The Council has 11 members; 7 judges, 2 university professors of law and 2 members of the Croatian Parliament. Seven Council members have to be judges, as required by the Croatian Constitution, in order to ensure representation of all Croatian courts with regard to their type and rank. The Order of Duke Trpimir ( hr, Red kneza Trpimira), or more fully the Order of Duke Trpimir with Neck Badge and Morning Star (''Red kneza Trpimira s ogrlicom i Danicom''), is an order of the Republic of Croatia.
