Milan Stamatović
Milan Stamatović (Serbian Cyrillic: Милан Стаматовић, ; born 24 May 1960) is a Serbian politician who has been the president of the municipality of Čajetina since 2004. He was an independent candidate in the 2017 Serbian presidential election. Since 2017, he has led the Healthy Serbia party. Political career Early career and campaigns From 1996 to 2000, Stamatović was a member of the Democratic Movement of Serbia in opposition to Slobodan Milošević. In 2000, he joined the Democratic Party of Serbia, which he represented until 2014. In 2014, Stamatović, Nenad Popović, and others left DSS to form the Serbian People's Party. In Čajetina's municipal election in April 2016, Stamatović campaigned with the support of a DSS- PUPS- SNP coalition and was elected to his fourth mandate with 56.33% of the vote, resulting in a rare loss of the state-ruling SNS. ''Danas'' (, Serbo-Croatian for "today") is a United Group-owned daily newspaper of record published in Belgrade, Serbia. It is a left-oriented media, promoting social-democracy and European Union integration. It is a vocal media supporter of Serbian NGO activities towards human rights and minorities protection. History The first issue of ''Danas'' appeared on 9 June 1997. It was established in 1997 after a group of discontented journalists from the ''Naša borba'' newspaper walked out after getting into a conflict with the paper's new private majority owner. 2014 Southeast Europe Floods
Between 13 and 18 May 2014 a low-pressure cyclone designated ''Tamara'' and ''Yvette'' affected a large area of Southeastern and Central Europe, causing floods and landslides. Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina suffered the greatest damage, as the rain was the heaviest in 120 years of recorded weather measurements. By 20 May, at least 62 people had died as a result of the flooding, and hundreds of thousands had been forced from their homes. Towns of Obrenovac in Serbia and Doboj in Bosnia and Herzegovina account for most victims, after being inundated by several-meter high waters from nearby rivers. Floodwaters caused over 2,000 landslides across Southeast Europe, spreading damage across many towns and villages. Bosko is an animated cartoon character created by animators Hugh Harman and Rudolf Ising. Bosko was the first recurring character in Leon Schlesinger's cartoon series and was the star of thirty-nine ''Looney Tunes'' shorts released by Warner Bros.
