Esko Mikkola
Esko Olavi Mikkola (born 14 February 1975 in Tampere) is a Finnish javelin thrower. Competing for the Arizona Wildcats track and field team, Mikkola won two NCAA DI javelin titles. He won a silver medal at the 2003 Summer Universiade in Daegu and finished eleventh at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens. He then competed at the 2005 World Championships without reaching the final. Hannu Mikkola
Hannu Olavi Mikkola (24 May 1942 − 25 February 2021) was a Finnish champion world rally driver. He was a seven-time winner of the 1000 Lakes Rally in Finland and won the RAC Rally in Great Britain four times. Career Mikkola's rally career spanned 31 years, starting with a Volvo PV544 in 1963, but his most successful period was during the 1970s and 1980s. The 1970s saw Mikkola a frontrunner in many international events, usually in a Ford Escort. He became the first overseas driver to win the East African Safari Rally in 1972, partnered by Gunnar Palm and again in a Ford Escort. In 1979 he made a serious challenge at the World Rally Championship title, ultimately finishing runner-up, only one point behind champion Björn Waldegård. Mikkola was joined by Swedish co-driver Arne Hertz in 1977 and the pair were very quickly a force to be reckoned with, winning the British Rally Championship in 1978 in an Escort. Heikki Mikkola
Heikki Antero Mikkola (born 6 July 1945) is a Finnish former professional motocross racer and motocross team manager. He competed in the Motocross World Championships from 1967 to 1979, most prominently as a member of the Husqvarna factory racing team where he became the first competitor to win both the 250cc and 500cc world championships. During the 1970s, Mikkola challenged perennial champion Roger De Coster for supremacy of the 500cc motocross world championships. After 12 seasons racing for Husqvarna, he joined the Yamaha factory racing team where he won two more 500cc world championships. As with many Finns involved in racing activities, he was nicknamed the Flying Finn and, was know for his trademark goatee beard and his fierce mein. After his racing career, he became a Yamaha race team manager. Niko Mikkola
Niko Mikkola (born 27 April 1996) is a Finnish professional ice hockey defenceman for the Florida Panthers of the National Hockey League (NHL). Mikkola was selected by the St. Louis Blues, 127th overall, in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft. He previously played for the St. Louis Blues and the New York Rangers. Mikkola won the Stanley Cup with the Panthers in 2024. Playing career Mikkola made his Liiga debut playing with KalPa during the 2014–15 Liiga season. On 29 May 2017, despite interest from St. Louis to sign his entry-level deal, Mikkola opted to continue his professional career in the Liiga, signing a two-year deal with fellow Finnish outfit, Tappara. Entwine was a Finnish gothic metal band from Lahti, Finland. Entwine played their last gig 9.Nov.2019 at Lahti History Entwine was originally assembled under the name ''Kaamos'' in 1995 by guitarist and vocalist Tom Mikkola, drummer Aksu Hanttu and bassist Teppo Taipale. They were originally a death metal band with harsh male vocals. In 1997 they decided to change their name to ''Entwine'' and their musical style to gothic metal/rock. Rhythm guitarist and vocalist Panu Willman was added to the band's line-up in 1997. In December of that same year, Entwine recorded its first demo entitled ''Divine Infinity''.
