Mikko Kousa
Mikko Kousa (born 11 May 1988) is a Finnish professional ice hockey defenceman who currently plays in HK Nitra. Playing career He logged his first minutes in the Finnish top-flight Liiga during the 2007-08 season, representing the Lahti Pelicans. He later represented fellow Liiga clubs HIFK, Jokerit and Lukko, winning the title with HIFK in 2011. Other stops in his resume include Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod and Medvescak Zagreb of the KHL, MODO Hockey of Sweden and SC Bern of Switzerland. Hokejový Klub Nitra is a professional ice hockey club based in Nitra, Slovakia. The club has been a member of the Slovak Extraliga since the 2003–04 season and winner of Slovak Extraliga in the 2015–16 season. History The club was founded in 1931 under the name AC. Their first trophy which they won was the Tatra Cup in 1934. The SM-liiga (marketed as just Liiga from 2013 on), (Finnish for ''League'') colloquially called the Finnish Elite League in English or FM-ligan in Swedish, is the top professional ice hockey league in Finland. It is one of the six founding leagues of the Champions Hockey League and currently allocated five spots - the maximum number - based on success in previous editions. It was created in 1975 to replace the SM-sarja, which was fundamentally an amateur league.
