Mikkel Kessler
Mikkel Kessler (born 1 March 1979) is a Danish former professional boxer who competed from 1998 to 2013. He held multiple super-middleweight world championships, including the WBA title three times between 2004 and 2013, and the WBC title twice between 2006 and 2010. Early life Kessler was born to a Danish father and an English mother, Ann, who hails from Salisbury, Wiltshire. He began his vocation early, training in boxing gyms at age 13. Amateur career Kessler competed five years as an amateur (2/93-1/98). He finished his amateur career with a record of 44 wins and three losses. Mikkel Aaland (born 1952) is a Norwegian-American photographer, based in San Francisco and Norway. He is known for work in the early days of digital photography, as well as his twelve books on photography. He is best known for his 1978 book ''Sweat'', an illustrated history of sweat bathing. His documentary photographs have been exhibited in major institutions around the world, including the Bibliothèque Nationale in Paris and the former Lenin Museum in Prague. Aaland is the author of works of memoir, books featuring his own photojournalism as well as works on digital imaging and various Adobe Photoshop products. The Mikkel Museum is a branch of the Art Museum of Estonia ( et, Eesti Kunstimuuseum), located in Kadriorg park in Tallinn. It displays a collection of mainly Western art and ceramics, and Chinese porcelain, donated by art collector Johannes Mikkel in 1994. History The museum was founded to house the art collection of Johannes Mikkel, who in 1994 had donated his collection of foreign art to the Art Museum of Estonia. Johannes Mikkel (1907–2006) came from southern Estonia, studied various subjects (including art) at the University of Tartu and worked, after World War II, in Tallinn as a manager in several antique shops. Through his vast network he was able to assemble the collection of the present museum. Mikkel Hansen (born 22 October 1987) is a Danish handball player for Aalborg Håndbold and the Danish national team. Hansen is regarded as one of the greatest players in handball history, and has been named the IHF World Player of the Year for a record-tying three times. Career He was voted as the IHF World Player of the Year in 2011, 2015 and 2018 by the International Handball Federation. He joined FC Barcelona Handbol in June 2008. He previously played for Danish Handball League club GOG, with whom he won the Danish championship in 2007. Mikkel Mikkelsen (also called Michael) (DOB - DOD) was Governor-General ad interim of St. Thomas in the Danish West Indies, from 27 February 1686 to 29 June 1686. Little is known about his life, aside from his short term as Governor during the turbulent early days of company rule. Mikkel Thygesen (born 22 October 1984) is a Danish football coach and former player. Thygesen was capped three times for the Denmark national team, all friendlies. Mikkel Rask (born 22 June 1983) is a Danish former professional footballer who played as a defender. Club career Mikkel Rask got his breakthrough in the Danish 1st Division in 2001 playing for Randers FC, but when the club later earned promotion to the Danish Danish Superliga in 2004 and suffered relegation that very same season, Rask moved to Viborg FF to stay in the Superliga. In-all Rask got to play 91 games and score 10 goals at top-flight level for Randers FC and Viborg FF, before Viborg FF suffered relegation in 2008. Rask then signed with Turkish Süper Lig side Diyarbakırspor in 2009, which at first seemed like a good move. Mikkel Bødker (surname alternately spelled Boedker; born 16 December 1989), is a Danish professional ice hockey right winger currently playing for HV71 of the Swedish Hockey League (SHL). He was selected eighth overall by the Phoenix Coyotes in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft, making him the highest-ever drafted Danish player. Having started his senior career with AB in 2001, he joined Manchester City a year later.
