Mikey Maher
Michael "Mikey" Maher (15 July 1869 – 18 May 1947) was an Irish hurler who played as a centre-forward for the Tipperary senior team. Born in Tubberadora, County Tipperary, Maher first arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of twenty-five when he made his senior debut in the 1895 championship. Maher went on to play a key part for Tipperary in what was a hugely successful era, and won five All-Ireland medals and five Munster medals. Maher was the first player to captain a team to All-Ireland success on three occasions. At club level Maher won three championship medals with Tubberadora. Stephen Hayes (hurler)
Stephen Hayes (1860 – 15 September 1929) was an Irish hurler. He played with club side Blackrock and at inter-county level with Cork. Hayes captained Cork to a third All-Ireland victory in-a-row in 1894. Career Hayes had his first hurling success when the Blackrock Nationals club won the inaugural Cork County Hurling Championship in 1887. It was the first of five such victories in seven seasons, with Hayes captaining the team in 1891 and 1894. Hayes first played for Cork when he captained the team for the 1899 Munster Championship. He captained the team for a second time during Cork's unsuccessful 1891 campaign. Hayes returned for a third stint as captain when Cork beat Tipperary by 3-04 to 1-02 to win the Munster Championshi in 1894. He later captained the team to a 5-20 to 2-00 defeat of Dublin in the 1894 All-Ireland final, in what was a record third successive title for Cork. Tim Condon
Timothy Condon (12 May 1876 – 22 May 1918) was an Irish sportsperson. He played hurling with his local clubs Horse and Jockey and Tubberadora and was a member of the Tipperary senior hurling team between 1896 and 1907. Biography Raised in Ballinure, County Tipperary, Condon was born to Michael Condon, a slater, and his wife Johanna. After a brief education he later worked as a plasterer in his local area. Condon first came to prominence as a hurler with the Tubberadora club with whom he won a Tipperary Championship medal in 1898. He later won a second championship medal as captain of the Horse and Jockey in 1898. After impressing at club level, Condon joined the Tipperary senior hurling team during the 1896 championship. Over the following four seasons he won All-Ireland Championship medals in 1896, 1898 and as captain in 1899 after respective defeats of Dublin, Kilkenny and Wexford. List Of Tipperary Senior Hurling Team Captains
This article lists players who have recently captained the Tipperary county hurling team in the Munster Senior Hurling Championship and the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship. The captain is normally chosen from the club that has won the Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship. This did not happen in 1989. In that year Loughmore Castleiney were the reigning county hurling champions but did not hold the captaincy during the championship as none of their players were deemed good enough to make the team. In 1989 therefore Pat McGrath of Loughmore Castleiney was the captain during the National Hurling League and Bobby Ryan of Borris-Ileigh was the captain during the Championship. The London County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) ( ga, Cumann Lúthchleas Gael, Coiste Londain) or London GAA is one of the county boards outside Ireland, and is responsible for Gaelic games in London. The county board is also responsible for the London county teams and schools. Paddy Riordan
Patrick J. Riordan (31 August 1871 - March 1941) was an Irish hurler who played as a forward for the Tipperary senior team. Born in Drombane, County Tipperary, Riordan first arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of twenty-three when he first linked up with the Tipperary senior team. He made his debut during the 1894 championship. Riordan went on to play a key part for Tipperary, and won two All-Ireland medals and two Munster medals. At club level Riordan was a three-time championship medallist. He began his club career with Drombane before later joining Upperchurch–Drombane and Thurles. Riordan retired from inter-county hurling following the conclusion of the 1907 championship.
