Mikel Cee Karlsson
Mikel Cee Karlsson (born 15 August 1977) is a Swedish film director. He has directed three feature-length documentaries as well as numerous music videos for artists like Fever Ray and Junip. Mikel is known for his darkly absurd and often disturbing imagery. Biography Mikel Cee Karlsson was born in 1977, in Varberg, Sweden. Mikel graduated from the School of Photography and Film, Gothenburg University in 2005. In addition to his three feature-length documentaries, he has directed numerous music videos for artists like Fever Ray, José González, The Amplifetes, The Perishers and Junip. Since 2007, Mikel is a part of the highly acclaimed Swedish production company ''Plattform Produktion'' (Involuntary 2008, Play 2011, Force Majeure 2014, The Square 2017). Göteborg Film Festival (GFF), formerly Göteborg International Film Festival (GIFF), known in English as the Gothenburg Film Festival, formerly Gothenburg International Film Festival, is an annual film festival in Gothenburg, Sweden and the largest film event in Scandinavia. When it was launched in 1979 it showed 17 films on 3 screens and had 3,000 visitors. Today, the film festival takes place over 10 days each year at the end of January and beginning of February. Calexico (band)
Calexico is a Tucson, Arizona-based Americana, Tex-Mex, indie rock band. The band's two main members, Joey Burns and John Convertino, first played together in Los Angeles as part of the group Giant Sand. They have recorded a number of albums on Quarterstick Records, while their 2005 EP ''In the Reins'', recorded with Iron & Wine, reached the Billboard 200 album charts. Their musical style is influenced by traditional Latin sounds of mariachi, conjunto, cumbia, and tejano mixed with country, jazz, and post-rock. The band is named for the border town of Calexico, California, and has been described by some as "desert noir". Madrugada (band)
Madrugada is a Norwegian alternative rock band formed in the town of Stokmarknes in 1993. The key band members included Sivert Høyem (vocals), Robert Burås (guitar) and Frode Jacobsen (bass). After Burås' death on 12 July 2007, Høyem and Jacobsen decided to finish recording what was to be their final album with the original lineup. On 21 January 2008, the band released '' Madrugada'' and announced that they would split after one last tour. They performed their final concert of this tour on 15 November 2008. In June 2018 it was announced that Høyem, Jacobsen and Lauvland Pettersen had reformed the band for a series of shows in 2019. According to Anders Kaasen of Allmusic, the band was noted for "its bareboned blues-inspired alt-rock" at the end of the 1990s. The Tough Alliance
The Tough Alliance, or ''TTA'', was an electronic pop music duo from Gothenburg, Sweden. The duo first came together in 2003 and consisted of childhood friends Henning Fürst and Eric Berglund. Previously on Swedish record label Service, in 2006, they started their own label, Sincerely Yours. They released four EPs, ''Make It Happen,'' ''Holiday,'' ''New Waves','' and ''Prison Break'' and three full-length studio albums, ''The New School'', ''Escaping Your Ambitions'' and ''A New Chance'', (''Escaping Your Ambitions'' being an entirely instrumental album).
