Mike Winkler
Mike Winkler is an American politician who served as a member of the Connecticut House of Representatives from the 56th district, which includes part of the town of Vernon, since 2017. Career In 2016, Winkler was elected to the seat in a close election over Republican Jim Tedford. Winkler was re-elected in 2018 and 2020 over Republican Laura Bush by a 15-point margin both times. In March 2021, Winkler controversially claimed that “you count Asians and other minorities that have never been discriminated against” when responding to a claim made by Sam Romeo, chairman of the Greenwich, Connecticut Housing Authority, that the population of the town of Greenwich was 37% racial minorities. William Tong
William Morten Tong (born May 2, 1973) is an American lawyer and politician who is the 25th and current Attorney General of Connecticut. Born in Hartford, Connecticut, Tong attended Brown University and the University of Chicago Law School. He began his career as an attorney with the law firms Simpson Thacher & Bartlett and Finn Dixon & Herling. In 2006, Tong entered politics upon winning election to the Connecticut House of Representatives to represent the 147th district, which includes most of North Stamford. He served six terms in the House from 2007 to 2019. During this period, Tong chaired the banking committee from 2011 to 2015 and the judiciary committee from 2015 to 2019. In 2018, Tong was elected attorney general of Connecticut. Tony Hwang (born September 17, 1964) is an American real estate agent and politician. A Republican, he is a member of the Connecticut State Senate, for the 28th District, which covers parts of Fairfield County. Previously, Hwang as a member of the Connecticut House of Representatives for the 134th District in the Connecticut General Assembly. Hwang became a state representative in 2008 and won re-election in 2010 and 2012. He was elected to the state Senate in 2014 and subsequently reelected. He is the assistant Senate Minority Leader.
