Mike Windt
Mike Windt (born May 29, 1986) is a former American football long snapper. He played college football at Cincinnati. College career Windt had an outstanding three-year career (2007–09) at the University of Cincinnati. Windt played well in 395 career snaps for the Bearcats. Professional career Cincinnati Bengals After going undrafted in the 2010 NFL Draft, Windt signed with the Cincinnati Bengals as a rookie free agent on April 24, 2010, he was later cut before the regular season. San Diego / Los Angeles Chargers Windt was signed by the San Diego Chargers on October 13, 2010. Windt becomes the Chargers' long snapper in 2010. David Binn, James Dearth and Ryan Neill were all on Injured-Reserve and Ethan Albright snapped in the Chargers' last two games. Long Snapper
In American football, the long snapper (or deep snapper) is a center on special teams whose duty is to snap the football over a longer distance, typically around 15 yards during punts, and 7–8 yards during field goals and extra point attempts. Overview During field goal and point after touchdown attempts, the snap is received by the holder, typically 7–8 yards away. During punts, the snap is delivered to the punter from 13–15 yards away. Following a punt snap, the snapper often executes a blocking assignment and then must cover the kick by running downfield and attempting to stop the opposing team's punt returner from advancing the ball in the opposite direction. If the punt goes uncaught, it is the snapper's responsibility to make sure the ball does not enter the end zone or bounce backward resulting in loss of yards. James Dearth
James Dearth (born January 22, 1976) is a former American football long snapper. Dearth, who attended Tarleton State University, was selected by the Cleveland Browns in the sixth round of the 1999 NFL Draft. He has also been a member of the New York Jets, Washington Redskins, San Diego Chargers and New England Patriots. Early years Dearth attended Scurry-Rosser High School in Scurry, Texas and was a student and a letterman in football. In football, he was a starter at both, quarterback and middle linebacker, and was an All-State honoree at both positions. Cole Joseph Frank Mazza (born February 14, 1995) is an American football long snapper for the Houston Gamblers of the United States Football League (USFL). He played college football at Alabama. College career Mazza was served as the starting long snapper Alabama Crimson Tide for four seasons, including the team's 2015 National Championship year. He missed only two games in four years due to injury and finished his collegiate career without a single botched snap in 583 attempts. Following his senior season Mazza was invited to participate in the 2017 Senior Bowl. Professional career Mazza garnered little NFL interest after graduating and worked for two years as a fitness coach until earning a tryout from the Alliance of American Football. Eric Weddle
Eric Steven Weddle (born January 4, 1985) is an American former football safety who played in the National Football League (NFL) for 14 seasons. He played college football at Utah, where he was a consensus All-American, and was selected by the San Diego Chargers in the second round of the 2007 NFL Draft. During his nine seasons with the Chargers, Weddle received three Pro Bowl and two first-team All-Pro selections. Weddle spent his next three seasons as a member of the Baltimore Ravens, earning Pro Bowl honors in each and extending his total selections to six. He retired after playing for the Los Angeles Rams in 2019, but returned two years later to join the Rams on their playoff run, which culminated with a victory in Super Bowl LVI. Lawrence Ethan Albright (born May 1, 1971) is a former American football long snapper who played in the National Football League (NFL) for 16 seasons, primarily with the Washington Redskins.
