Mike Taylor (linebacker, Born 1989)
Mike Taylor (born October 7, 1989) is an American football linebacker who is currently a free agent. He played college football at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He has been a member of the Seattle Seahawks of the National Football League. College career 2008 Taylor redshirted his first season. He was named Wisconsin's defensive scout player of the week at Indiana on November 8. 2009 Taylor was named on the Big Ten All-Freshman Team by Sporting News. Taylor played and started seven games as a freshman. Taylor suffered a season-ending knee injury against Iowa. He led the leam with 46 tackles at the time of his injury. 2010 Taylor was named consensus honorable mention All-Big Ten. Taylor played in and started 12 games. Linebacker
Linebacker (LB) is a playing position in gridiron football. Linebackers are members of the defensive team, and line up three to five yards behind the line of scrimmage and the defensive linemen. They are the "middle ground" of defenders, playing closer to the line of scrimmage than the defensive backs (secondary), but farther back than the defensive linemen. As such, linebackers play a hybrid role and are often the most versatile players on the defensive side of the ball; they can be asked to play roles similar to either a defensive lineman (such as stopping the runner on a running play) or a defensive back (such as dropping back into pass coverage). The Bronko Nagurski Trophy has been awarded annually since 1993 to the collegiate American football defensive player adjudged by the membership of the Football Writers Association of America (FWAA) to be the best in the National Collegiate Athletic Association.
