Michael Ronald Taylor (1 June 1938, Ealing, West London – 19 January 1969) was a British jazz composer, pianist and co-songwriter for the band Cream. Biography Mike Taylor was brought up by his grandparents in London and Kent, and joined the RAF for his national service. Having rehearsed and written extensively throughout the early 1960s, he recorded two albums for the Lansdowne series produced by Denis Preston: ''Pendulum'' (1966) with drummer Jon Hiseman, bassist Tony Reeves and saxophonist Dave Tomlin and ''Trio'' (1967) with Hiseman and bassists Jack Bruce and Ron Rubin. The albums were issued on UK Columbia. During his brief recording career, several of Taylor's pieces were played and recorded by his contemporaries. Three Taylor compositions were recorded by Cream, with lyrics by drummer Ginger Baker: "Passing the Time", "Pressed Rat and Warthog" and "Those Were the Days", all of which appeared on the band's August 1968 album ''Wheels of Fire''. Michael C. Taylor (July 21, 1948 – September 5, 2010) was an American guitarist, songwriter, and arranger. After a successful musical career, he became an historian, archaeologist and preservationist. He is widely remembered as a performer and co-writer on John Denver's song "Rocky Mountain High". Early life Taylor was born in Fayetteville, North Carolina, the son of Katie Steed and George F. Taylor. As a boy, he and his father collected native American arrowheads and similar artifacts around the area where they lived. As a teenager, he taught himself to play the acoustic guitar. By his late teens and early twenties, he had become the lead guitarist for folk singers in both Fayetteville and New York. Musical career Taylor rose quickly in the music world, serving as lead guitarist for Joni Mitchell and similar artists, all before his 21st birthday. Michael John Clifford Taylor (24 April 1934 – 4 April 2017) was a British racing driver. He participated in two Formula One World Championship Grands Prix, debuting on 18 July 1959. He scored no championship points. He also participated in several non-Championship Formula One races. His racing career effectively ended when his steering column weld failed on his Lotus 18 in the 1960 Belgian Grand Prix at . He was thrown from the car, cutting down a tree with his body and broke several bones (Alan Stacey and Chris Bristow were killed and Stirling Moss was also injured at the event, crashing his Lotus 18 in practice). He was paralysed, but after therapy was able to regain the ability to walk. Because of his car failure Taylor later sued Lotus successfully, one of the few successful actions against the makers of a racing car. Michael Norman Somerset Taylor (born 12 November 1942) was an English first-class cricketer who played mainly for Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club and Hampshire County Cricket Club in a career that spanned the 1964 and 1980 seasons and included 375 first-class and 226 limited overs matches. Taylor was born along, of course, with twin Brother Derek at Shardeloes House an 18th Century Manor House set in the Chiltern Hills just outside Amersham. His early cricket was played at Amersham Hill C.C. and then Chesham C.C. where he benefitted from being coached by Alf Pope the ex-Derbyshire bowler. Before moving to Trent Bridge Taylor played Minor County Cricket for Buckinghamshire. Michael Richard Taylor (born August 29, 1972) is an American basketball coach. He currently serves as head coach for the Winnipeg Sea Bears of the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL). He played college basketball for Chipola College and Iowa State Cyclones men's basketball, Iowa State. Mike Taylor (born 1964), also known by the alias Taylor MH, is an English athlete, public speaker, and author from Stourbridge, England. After being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS) at the age of 26, he became the first person with MS to successfully swim a relay of the English Channel in 1997. Despite being unable to use his legs, he later completed a swimming relay of Loch Lomond in Scotland, a relay from Majorca to Menorca in the Balearic Islands, and three team relays from Santa Catalina Island to Santa Monica in California. In each case he raised funds to donate to non-profits such as the Multiple Sclerosis Society and the Myelin Research Project. He also founded the MS charity foundation Turning the Tides (TTT).
