Mike Swistowicz
Michael Paul Swistowicz (April 22, 1927 – November 24, 1973) was an American football player who played one season in the National Football League with the New York Yanks and Chicago Cardinals (NFL, 1920–59), Chicago Cardinals. He was drafted by the New York Yanks in the fifth round of the 1950 NFL Draft. He played college football at the University of Notre Dame and attended Tilden High School (Chicago), Tilden High School in Chicago Illinois. Swistowicz died in 1973 after working out. Halfback (American Football)
A halfback (HB) is an offensive position in American football, whose duties involve lining up in the offensive backfield and carrying the ball on most rushing plays, i.e. a running back. When the principal ball carrier lines up deep in the backfield, and especially when that player is placed behind another player (usually a blocking back), as in the I formation, that player is instead referred to as a tailback. Sometimes the halfback can catch the ball from the backfield on short passing plays as they are an eligible receiver. Occasionally, they line up as additional wide receivers. In gridiron football, defensive backs (DBs), also called the secondary, are the players on the defensive side of the ball who play farthest back from the line of scrimmage. They are distinguished from the other two sets of defensive players, the defensive linemen who play directly on the line of scrimmage, and the linebackers, who play in the middle of the defense, between the defensive line and the defensive backs.
