Mike Strachan (wide Receiver)
Michael Strachan (born August 13, 1997) is a Bahamian professional American football wide receiver for the Carolina Panthers of the National Football League (NFL). He is one of only 4 football players born in the Bahamas to have played in the NFL. He was a wide receiver and track athlete in college at Charleston before being selected by the Indianapolis Colts in the seventh round of the 2021 NFL Draft. Early years Strachan grew up in Freeport, Bahamas before moving to Lynchburg, Virginia, where he attended Liberty Christian Academy. College career Strachan was a member of the Charleston Golden Eagles for four seasons. Strachan redshirted his true freshman year and played sparingly the following season, catching one pass. 2021 NFL Draft
The 2021 NFL Draft was the 86th National Football League Draft, the annual meeting of National Football League (NFL) franchises to select newly eligible players for the 2021 NFL season. The draft was held in Cleveland from April 29 to May 1, 2021. Five quarterbacks were selected in the first round — Trevor Lawrence, Zach Wilson, Trey Lance, Justin Fields, and Mac Jones — the second highest number of first-round quarterback selections (along with the 1999 and 2018 drafts) after the six selected in 1983. The draft also marked the third time the first three picks (Lawrence, Wilson, and Lance) were quarterbacks, following the 1971 and 1999 drafts. The Chicago Bears are a professional American football team based in Chicago. In sports, the practice squad, also called the taxi squad or practice roster, is a group of players signed by a team but not part of their main roster. Frequently used in gridiron football, they serve as extra players during the team's practices, often as part of the scout team by emulating an upcoming opponent's play style. The NFL Scouting Combine is a week-long showcase occurring every February at Lucas Oil Stadium (and formerly at the RCA Dome until 2008) in Indianapolis, where college football players perform physical and mental tests in front of National Football League coaches, general managers, and scouts.
