Mike Morgan (songwriter)
Michael Allen Morgan (born June 12, 1948) is an American singer-songwriter and record producer. Early life and education Morgan was born in Jackson, Ohio, on June 12, 1948, to Naomi Elizabeth (née Long) and John Willard Morgan as the youngest of three boys. As a teenager, Morgan, along with high school friend Paul Hanks, formed a garage band called The Truants in 1964. The group began to perform with members Craig Loney, Larry Coburn, John Jones, and Joe Click coming alongside Morgan and Hanks. The Truants became one of the major touring bands in the Tri-State. They appeared in concert and on television with John Hamer's ''Let's Dance'' TV program generated from Huntington, West Virginia. This appearance generated tremendous response for the band. Jackson, Ohio
Jackson is a city in and the county seat of Jackson County, Ohio, United States approximately 27 mi (43 km) SE of Chillicothe. The population was 6,239 at the 2020 census. History Established in 1817, residents named the town after Andrew Jackson, a hero of the War of 1812, and an eventual president of the United States. The community grew slowly, having only 297 inhabitants in 1840. In 1846, Jackson contained four churches, about seven stores, and a single newspaper office. Over the next 40 years, the town grew quickly, attaining a population of 3,021 people in 1880. By 1880, two railroad lines passed through the community, helping to spur economic and population growth. In 1886, two newspaper offices, eight churches, and two banks existed in Jackson. Slaid Cleaves is an American singer-songwriter born in Washington, D.C. and raised in South Berwick, Maine and Round Pond, Maine, United States. An alumnus of Tufts University, where he majored in English and philosophy, Cleaves lives in Austin, Texas. His full name is Richard Slaid Cleaves, but Slaid is the name that he has used his entire life. Cleaves is a full-time touring musician, but like most musicians has held many day jobs: janitor, warehouse worker, ice cream truck driver, rope-tow operator, film developer, groundskeeper, meter reader, test subject, and pizza delivery driver. Cleaves's musical roots extend back prior to his days playing in a high school "garage band" with his childhood friend Rod Picott.
