Mike McPhail
Mike McPhail is an American author, editor, and game designer as well as publisher of fiction, and is best known for his work in military fiction. McPhail has spoken at industry and pop culture conventions, and has appeared as a guest speaker and panelist at Balticon, Confluence, Heliosphere, LunaCon, DerpyCon, DexCon, Far Point, Shikkaricon, and Shore Leave. Danielle Ackley-McPhail (born 1970) is an American author and editor, as well as publisher of fiction, and is best known for her work in speculative fiction. She was the editor for the ''Bad-Ass Faeries'', which was a finalist for the Dream Realm Award for best anthology, and her novel ''Tomorrow's Memories'' was a finalist for the 2008 Dream Realm Award for best fantasy. ''Bad-Ass Faeries 3: In All Their Glory'' won the best anthology at the 2011 EPIC award for best eBook anthology. Balticon is the Maryland Regional science fiction convention, sponsored by the Baltimore Science Fiction Society (BSFS). It has been held annually since 1966. The name "Balticon" is trademarked by BSFS. The Military Writers Society of America, also known as the MWSA, is non-profit, 501(c)3 association of authors, poets, and artists, many of whom are U.S. military veterans or family members of veterans. Membership is open to anyone with an interest in, affinity for, or connection to the military. The organization provides a venue for meeting other authors and artists, sharing ideas and learning about writing and the publishing industry.
