Mike King (basketball)
Michael Antonio King (born March 26, 1978) is an American former professional basketball player. College career King played collegiate for The George Washington University. He attended Lake Clifton High School in Baltimore, Maryland, where he won a Maryland 4A state championship as a sophomore. He then had Lake Clifton High School ranked 11th in the nation as a senior. He was a High School All-American Honorable Mention. As a 6' 4" combo guard, King was named to the Atlantic 10 All Rookie Team in 1998. He also scored over 1,000 points at George Washington University and is 4th all time in steals. He helped the team to a number of NCAA tournaments and Atlantic 10 championships. Professional career King was selected by the Roanoke Dazzle in the 6th round of the 2002 NBA Development League Draft. King began his professional career with the Roanoke Dazzle of the NBDL for the 02-03 season. He then played two more year seasons with the Dazzle from 03-05, where he averaged 14.1 points ... Guard (basketball)
In the sport of basketball, there are five players play per team, each assigned to positions. Historically, these players have been assigned, to positions defined by the role they play on the court, from a strategic point of view. The three main positions are guard, forward, and center, with the standard team featuring two guards, two forwards, and a center. Over time, as more specialized roles developed, each of the guards and forwards came to be differentiated, and today each of the five positions are known by unique names, each of which has also been assigned a number: point guard (PG) or 1, the shooting guard (SG) or 2, the small forward (SF) or 3, the power forward (PF) or 4, and the center (C) or 5. Cyprus Basketball Division 1
The Cypriot Basketball Division A is currently the top-tier level men's professional basketball competition of the Cypriot basketball league system. It is run and governed by the Cyprus Basketball Federation. Format At present, six clubs compete in the league. Since the 2016–17 season, the six teams play each other four times during the regular season, with the top 4 teams reaching the play-off semi-finals stage. One team (the last one) at the end of the season is relegated to the second division, whilst one team from the second division is promoted. The play-off semi-finals and the championship winner will be decided after three wins. The championship winner, along with the winners of the Cypriot Cup, will qualify to compete in the next season's FIBA's European-wide continental competitions. NBA Development League
The NBA G League, or simply the G League, is the National Basketball Association's (NBA) official List of developmental and minor sports leagues, minor league basketball organization. The league was known as the National Basketball Development League (NBDL) from 2001 to 2005, and the NBA Development League (NBA D-League) from 2005 until 2017. Atlantic 10 Conference
The Atlantic 10 Conference (A-10) is a collegiate athletic conference whose schools compete in the National Collegiate Athletic Association's (NCAA) Division I. The A-10's member schools are located in states mostly on the United States Eastern Seaboard, as well as some in the Midwest: Massachusetts, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Virginia, Ohio, Illinois, and Missouri as well as in the District of Columbia. Although some of its members are state-funded, half of its membership is made up of private, Catholic institutions.
