Mike Keen (racing Driver)
Michael Thomas Keen (19 March 1940 – 12 April 2009) was an English footballer who played during the 1960s and 1970s. He was the father of former West Ham United and Stoke City player Kevin Keen. Keen started his career at Queens Park Rangers, making his debut in 1959 against York City. He went on to play 393 league games and scored 39 goals for the club. Keen was the captain of the QPR side that won the League Cup and Third Division title in 1966–67. He captained the FA tour of Australia in 1971. He scored six goals as they won all nine of their games, two against Australia and seven against state sides. He played for Luton Town from 1969 to 1972 until he was transferred to Watford. He was appointed player-manager of Watford in 1973. He was sacked in 1977 shortly before a home game with Huddersfield Town, but was on the touchline during the game, which Watford won 2–0 despite having two players sent off. High Wycombe
High Wycombe, often referred to as Wycombe ( ), is a market town in Buckinghamshire, England. Lying in the valley of the River Wye surrounded by the Chiltern Hills, it is west-northwest of Charing Cross in London, south-southeast of Aylesbury, southeast of Oxford, northeast of Reading and north of Maidenhead. According to the 2021 United Kingdom census, High Wycombe's built up area has a population of 127,856, making it the second largest town in the ceremonial county of Buckinghamshire after Milton Keynes. The High Wycombe Urban Area, the conurbation of which the town is the largest component, has a population of 140,684. High Wycombe is mostly an unparished area. Martyn Busby
Martyn George Busby (born 24 March 1953) is an English former professional footballer who played mainly with Queens Park Rangers. Born in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, Busby signed professional forms with QPR in 1970 and made his debut in a 2–1 defeat against Leicester City in April 1970. He played midfield and was considered one of the brightest prospects that the QPR youth team had produced for many years. He began establishing himself in the first team towards the end of the 1971–72 season when he started the last fourteen matches. The 1972–73 season again saw him start every game until catastrophe struck in a game against Fulham at Craven Cottage in October. He suffered an extremely badly broken leg and it was thought at the time to be career-ending. After the best part of eighteen months out of the game he did return to play but was never quite the same player and remained only a fringe player until he moved to Portsmouth on loan for a spell in 1976. Viv Busby
Vivian Dennis Busby (born 19 June 1949) is an English former professional footballer and manager. He played for Wycombe Wanderers, Luton Town, Newcastle United, Fulham Norwich City, Stoke City, Sheffield United, Tulsa Roughnecks, Blackburn Rovers and York City. Playing career Born in Slough, Buckinghamshire, Busby started his playing career at Wycombe Wanderers in 1966, but was unable to hold down a regular place in their team, despite his emerging talent. He moved to Luton Town in January 1970. At Kenilworth Road Busby scored four goals in his first nine matches helping the club gain promotion to the Second Division in 1969–70. He scored eight goals in 1970–71 but struggled to find form in 1971–72 and spent time out on loan at Newcastle United. He was sold to Fulham in August 1973 where he had the most prolific spell of his career. Isthmian League
The Isthmian League () is a regional men's football league covering Greater London, East and South East England, featuring mostly semi-professional clubs. Founded in 1905 by amateur clubs in the London area, the league now consists of 82 teams in four divisions: the Premier Division above its three feeder divisions, the North, South Central and South East divisions. FA Trophy
The Football Association Challenge Trophy, commonly known as the FA Trophy, is a men's football knockout cup competition run by and named after the English Football Association and competed for primarily by semi-professional teams. The competition was instigated in 1969 to cater to those non-league clubs that paid their players and were therefore not eligible to enter the FA Amateur Cup. Eligibility rules have changed over time, but from 2008 onwards the competition has been open to clubs playing in Steps 1–4 of the National League System, equivalent to tiers 5–8 of the overall English football league system.
