Michael Hall (September 7, 1926 – May 24, 2020) was a former American actor who later was an art dealer and collector. As an actor, he is best known for his role as Rob Stephenson, the son of Fredric March’s character in the film ''The Best Years of Our Lives.'' Personal life Hall was born on September 7, 1926 in Wichita, Kansas the only child of Maurice Everette Hall, Sr. (1897–1959) and Vera Elizabeth Bray Hall (1901–1994). His father worked in the petroleum industry and the family moved between California and Missouri during his childhood. Hall won the declamation contest at Denver High School in 1943, and in 1947 the ''Boston Globe'' reported that he was attending the University of California at Los Angeles. Hall also said that he didn't like girls his age and found Radcliffe undergraduates to be "typical giggly undergraduates." He said that he preferred old women but that they did not like him. Michael John Hall (29 May 1935 – 10 August 2019), known as 'Mike', was an English cricketer. Hall was a right-handed batsman. Early life Hall was the son of JB and Mary Hall and was born in Worksop, Nottinghamshire, with the family moving to Retford in 1949 when Hall was 14. He started his cricketing career in the First 11 for the Grammar School. His father John Hall also played first-class cricket. Cricketing career Hall made his first-class debut for Nottinghamshire against Essex in the 1958 County Championship at the Garrison A Cricket Ground, Colchester, with him making a further eight first-class appearances in that season. The following season he made eight further first-class appearances for Nottinghamshire, the last of which came against Northamptonshire in the County Championship. Just before graduating from University of Cambridge, Hall commenced his international career on 28 May 1988 against New Zealand national rugby union team, New Zealand in Christchurch aged 22. He made his final appearance on 4 June 1995 in the 24–23 loss against Ireland national rugby union team, Ireland in Johannesburg in the 1995 Rugby World Cup, where he was captain of the side. Michael Hall (born October 3, 1956) is a retired American powerlifter, who is perhaps best known for being a pioneer of the drug-free movement in powerlifting. Hall is considered the first African American Super Heavyweight powerlifter to win a World Powerlifting Championship. Hall succeeded in setting numerous American Drug Free Powerlifting Association (ADFPA), American and National records in all three lifts, as well as the total. In addition, he won both the ADFPA and United States Powerlifting Federation (USPF) nationals several times during the same year. He was also the first superheavyweight lifter to win both the IPF and the WDFPF World Championships. Michael Richard Hall (4 June 1981 – 31 March 2017) was a British cyclist and race organiser who specialised in self-supported ultra-distance cycling races. In 2012, he won the inaugural World Cycle Race. In 2013 and 2016, he won the Tour Divide ultra-endurance mountain bike race across the Rocky Mountains in Canada and the United States. In 2014, he won the inaugural Trans Am Bike Race, a road-based event from the Pacific coast to the Atlantic coast in the United States. From 2013, he was the principal organiser of the Transcontinental Race, an event similar to the TransAm Bicycle Race, but that traverses Europe.
