Michael Golden (comics)
Michael Golden is an American comics artist and writer best known for his late-1970s work on Marvel Comics' '' The Micronauts'' and ''The 'Nam'', as well as his co-creation of the characters Rogue and Bucky O'Hare. His work is known to have influenced the style of artist Arthur Adams. Career After starting his illustration career in commercial art, Golden entered the comics industry in late 1977, working on such DC Comics titles as ''Mister Miracle'' and '' Batman Family''. His first work for Marvel Comics was "The Cask of Amontillado", a backup story in ''Marvel Classics Comics'' #28 (1977) adapting an Edgar Allan Poe short story. In 1978, he collaborated with Bill Mantlo on Marvel's ''Micronauts'' which he illustrated for the series' first 12 issues. He drew a number of Marvel series throughout the 1970s and 1980s, including '' Doctor Strange'', the ''Howard the Duck'' black-and-white comics magazine, and ''Marvel Fanfare''. Michael Henry Golden (September 11, 1851 – January 11, 1929) was an American Major League Baseball player who pitched and played in the outfield for three teams during his two season career. Career Born in Shirley, Massachusetts, Golden made his debut on May 4, 1875 for the Keokuk Westerns of the National Association. He was their starting pitcher for all 13 games the team was in the Association, completing all 13, with 113 innings pitched, a 2.79 ERA, and won just one game against 12 losses. When the Westerns folded, he signed with the Chicago White Stockings for the rest of the season. He pitched 119 innings in 14 games pitched for the White Stockings, with a 2.79 ERA, a 6–7 W-L records, 12 complete games, and one shutout. In addition to pitching, he also played 27 games in the outfield. In total, he played in 39 games, hitting .258, and scored 16 runs. Mike Golden (ice Hockey)
Michael Golden is an American retired ice hockey forward who was an All-American for the University of Maine. Career Golden was a star player for Reading Memorial High School in Massachusetts, leading his team to a Middlesex League championship while scoring nearly three points per game. The Edmonton Oilers ended up selecting him in the second round of the 1983 NHL Entry Draft and he began attending the University of New Hampshire in the fall. Golden's tenure in Durham lasted just seven games and he left mid-season to play for both a junior-B team and at the World Junior Championships. Golden ended up transferring to Maine and was forced to sit out the entire 1984–85 season due to NCAA requirements. He debuted for the Black Bears the following year and slowly worked his way to the top of the roster.
