Frank Smith (Montana Politician)
Frank J. Smith (born September 27, 1942) is an American politician, previously serving as a member of the Montana Senate, representing District 16. He served in the Montana Senate from 2004 until 2008 when he was succeeded by Jonathan Windy Boy. He was re-elected to the Montana Senate in 2016, and served from 2017 to 2020. In 2020, he was elected to the Montana House of Representatives, representing District 31. He was previously a member of the Montana House of Representatives. Hays is a census-designated place (CDP) in Blaine County, Montana, United States. The population was 843 at the 2010 census. The community lies within the Fort Belknap Indian Reservation, near the reservation's southern end. The nearby community of Lodge Pole lies to the east. The town was named for Major Hays. The Bureau of Catholic Indian Missions built St. Paul’s Mission Church at Hays in 1887. Geography Hays is located at (47.989164, -108.687493).
