Mike Dovilla
Michael D. Dovilla (born March 13, 1975) is a former member of the Ohio House of Representatives who represented the Seventh District from 2013 to 2016. Prior to redistricting, he was first elected to represent the Eighteenth District in 2010. He is a Republican. Career Dovilla was raised in Berea, Ohio, and graduated from Baldwin-Wallace College and American University. A U.S. Navy veteran, he formerly worked as a Presidential appointee at the U.S. Office of Personnel Management, committee staffer for U.S. Senator George Voinovich and a Presidential Management Intern at the U.S. Department of State. He is a member of Phi Kappa Tau and began a two-year term as national president of the fraternity in July 2016. Matt Patten
Matt Patten (born June 16, 1977) is a Democratic Party (United States), Democratic politician who served in the Ohio House of Representatives. A native of Cleveland, Ohio, Patten was a labor organizer before beginning a career in the political sector. When Representative Tom Patton gave up another term in the House to run for the Ohio Senate, Patten ran for his seat. It was thought that Patten would run against term limited Senator Robert Spada, but an appointment given to Spada by Ohio Governor Ted Strickland changed the favorite of the race. With Spada out of the race, good last name recognition and a strong showing by Barack Obama within the district, Patten won the seat over Colleen Grady, who was a last minute entrant to the race. Matt Dolan
Matthew John Dolan (born January 12, 1965) is an American attorney and politician who has served as a member of the Ohio Senate from the 24th district since 2017. He previously served as a member of the Ohio House of Representatives from 2005 to 2010. Dolan's father Larry bought the Cleveland Guardians (then Cleveland Indians) in 2000 and gave Matt a partial stake in the Major League Baseball team. Prior to his election victory in 2016, Dolan was part of the team's front office, overseeing the budget and also running the team's charity program. The Ohio Senate is the upper house of the Ohio General Assembly. The State Senate, which meets in the Ohio Statehouse in Columbus, first convened in 1803. Senators are elected for four year terms, staggered every two years such that half of the seats are contested at each election. George Voinovich
George Victor Voinovich (July 15, 1936June 12, 2016) was an American politician who served as a United States senator from Ohio from 1999 to 2011, the 65th governor of Ohio from 1991 to 1998 and the 54th mayor of Cleveland from 1980 to 1989, the last Republican to serve in that office. Thomas F. Patton (born November 3, 1953) is the state representative for the 7th District of the Ohio House of Representatives. He is a Republican.
