Mike Denbrock
Michael Fredrick Denbrock (born January 29, 1964) is an American football coach. He is the offensive coordinator at Louisiana State University (LSU). Denbrock has previously been a coach at Notre Dame, Illinois State, Grand Valley State, Stanford, Washington, and Indiana State. He also coached in the Arena Football League (AFL) with the Buffalo Destroyers. Early coaching career After graduating from Grand Valley State University in 1985 with a degree in communications, Denbrock returned to Grand Valley State as a graduate assistant, working with the offensive tackles and tight ends. In 1987, he first worked with Brian Kelly, who assisted with the defensive backs in his first season as a graduate assistant. After two years, Denbrock moved on to Michigan State University where he helped with the quarterbacks and receivers on the 1988 Spartan squad that was selected for the Gator Bowl. Offensive Coordinator
An offensive coordinator is a member of the coaching staff of an American football or Canadian football team who is in charge of the team's offense. Generally, along with the defensive coordinator and the special teams coordinator, this coach represents the second level of coaching structure after the head coach. The offensive coordinator is in charge of the team's offensive game plan, and typically calls offensive plays during the game, although some offensive-minded head coaches also handle play-calling. Several position coaches work under the offensive coordinator (position groupings can include quarterbacks, wide receivers, offensive line, running backs, and tight ends). 1989 Aloha Bowl
The 1989 Jeep-Eagle Aloha Bowl was a college football bowl game, played as part of the 1989-90 bowl game schedule of the 1989 NCAA Division I-A football season. It was the eighth Aloha Bowl. It was played on December 25, 1989, at Aloha Stadium in Honolulu, Hawaii. The game matched the Hawaii Rainbows against the Michigan State Spartans, and was televised on ABC. The game marked the first ever bowl appearance for Hawaii. Michigan State won the 1989 contest 33–13. The 1989 Michigan State Spartans football team represented Michigan State University in the 1989 NCAA Division I-A football season. The 1989 Gator Bowl (January) was a college football postseason bowl game between the Michigan State Spartans and the Georgia Bulldogs Background Michigan State finished 2nd in the Big Ten Conference after a 0–3–1 start ended with six straight victories before being invited to their second straight bowl game and first ever Gator Bowl. Brian Kelly (American Football Coach)
Brian Keith Kelly (born October 25, 1961) is an American football coach who is currently the head football coach at Louisiana State University (LSU). Kelly previously served as the head football coach at Grand Valley State University (1991–2003), Central Michigan University (2004–2006), the University of Cincinnati (2006–2009), and the University of Notre Dame (2010–2021). He led the Grand Valley State Lakers to consecutive NCAA Division II Football Championships in 2002 and 2003. Tight End
The tight end (TE) is a position in American football, arena football, and Canadian football, on the offense. The tight end is often a hybrid position with the characteristics and roles of both an offensive lineman and a wide receiver. Like offensive linemen, they are usually lined up on the offensive line and are large enough to be effective blockers. On the other hand, unlike offensive linemen, they are eligible receivers adept enough to warrant a defense's attention when running pass patterns. Because of the hybrid nature of the position, the tight end's role in any given offense depends on the tactical preferences and philosophy of the head coach as well as overall team dynamic. A graduate assistant serves in a support role at a university, usually while completing post-graduate education. The assistant typically helps professors with instructional responsibilities as teaching assistants or with academic research responsibilities as research assistants, aids coaches with an athletic team, or is employed by other university departments (such as housing or academic advising).
