Mike Davis (wide Receiver)
Mike Davis (born May 11, 1992) is a former American football wide receiver. He played college football at Texas. High school Davis attended Skyline High School in Dallas, Texas, where he was a prep All-American, two-time all-state, two-time first-team all-area and all-district performer at wide receiver. He recorded 129 catches for 2,764 yards and 39 TDs over his final three seasons, helping Skyline post a 37-4 record. He also played in the 2010 Under Armour All-America Game, finishing as the game’s leading receiver with three catches for 53 yards and a TD. Considered a four-star recruit by ''Rivals.com'', he was rated as the 4th best wide receiver prospect in the nation. Under Armour All-America Game
The Under Armour High School All-America Game is a high school football all-star game typically held in early January in the U.S. state of Florida created to spotlight the nation’s top high school seniors. The game was first played on January 5, 2008, and has been played annually at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida or at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida. The game is sponsored by Under Armour and enjoys a national audience thanks to broadcast partner ESPN (the first edition was broadcast on ABC opposite the U.S. Army All-American Bowl). The game is co-owned by Chicago-based sports marketing agency Intersport and ESPN. All-America
The All-America designation is an annual honor bestowed upon an amateur sports person from the United States who is considered to be one of the best amateurs in their sport. Individuals receiving this distinction are typically added to an All-America team for their sport. Some sports will have multiple All-America teams and will list the honorees as members of a first team, second team, or third team. As such, All-America teams are composed of outstanding US amateur players. Individuals falling short of qualifying for the honor may receive All-America honorable mention. The designation is typically used at the collegiate level although, beginning in 1957, high school- athletes in football began being honored with All-America status, which then carried-over to other sports like basketball and cross-country running.
