Mike Crawhall
John Michael Crawhall (21 February 1938 — 2 June 2023) was an English cricketer. Crawhall was a right-handed batsman. He was born in Newcastle upon Tyne, Northumberland and educated at Rugby School, where he represented the school cricket team. Crawhall made his debut for Northumberland in the 1962 Minor Counties Championship against the Lancashire Second XI. Crawhall played Minor counties cricket for Northumberland from 1961 to 1979, which included 164 Minor Counties Championship appearances. He made his List A debut against Lincolnshire in the 1971 Gillette Cup. He made two further List A appearances for Northumberland, against Bedfordshire and Somerset, both in the 1977 Gillette Cup. In his three List A matches for the county, he scored 82 runs at an average of 41.00, with a high score of 66. This score came against Lincolnshire in 1971. Bedfordshire County Cricket Club is one of 20 Minor County clubs within the domestic cricket structure of England and Wales. It represents the historic county of Bedfordshire. The team is currently a member of the Minor Counties Championship Eastern Division and plays in the MCCA Knockout Trophy. Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre of which is a pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps. Don Wilson (cricketer)
Donald Wilson (7 August 1937 – 21 July 2012) was an English cricketer, who played in six Test matches for England from 1964 to 1971. His first-class cricket career, which lasted from 1957 to 1974, was spent with Yorkshire County Cricket Club and he later became a noted cricket coach. He was born in Settle, Yorkshire and died at York. Life and career Wilson made his first-class debut in 1957 but his regular cricket began two years later when he succeeded Johnny Wardle as Yorkshire's left-arm spinner, winning his Yorkshire cap in 1960. He was then an integral part of Yorkshire's formidable side that won seven County Championship titles between 1959 and 1968. In cricket, a player's batting average is the total number of runs they have scored divided by the number of times they have been out, usually given to two decimal places. Since the number of runs a player scores and how often they get out are primarily measures of their own playing ability, and largely independent of their teammates, batting average is a good metric for an individual player's skill as a batter (although the practice of drawing comparisons between players on this basis is not without criticism).
