Mike Cavanaugh is an American ice hockey coach and former player. Cavanaugh was an assistant at Boston College Eagles men's ice hockey, Boston College for 18 seasons before being named as Bruce Marshall (ice hockey), Bruce Marshall's successor at Connecticut Huskies men's ice hockey, Connecticut in the spring of 2013. The 2015–16 NCAA Division I men's ice hockey season began in October 2015 and ended with the 2016 NCAA Division I men's ice hockey tournament's championship game on April 9, 2016. This was the 69th season in which an NCAA ice hockey championship was held, and the 122nd year overall in which an NCAA school fielded a team. On January 22, 2016, Boston College coach Jerry York became the first NCAA hockey coach to win 1,000 games and only the second coach in the professional or amateur level to achieve 1,000 wins. 2014 Atlantic Hockey Tournament
The 2014 Atlantic Hockey Tournament is the 10th Atlantic Hockey Tournament. It was played between March 7 and March 22, 2014, at campus locations and at the Blue Cross Arena in Rochester, New York. The winner of the tournament was the Robert Morris Colonials, who earned Atlantic Hockey's automatic bid to the 2014 NCAA Division I Men's Ice Hockey Tournament. Format The tournament features four rounds of play. In the first round the fifth and twelfth, sixth and eleventh, seventh and tenth, and eighth and ninth seeds, as determined by the conference regular-season standings, played a best-of-three series with the winners advancing to the quarterfinals.
